“Cozy restaurant, set in an old renovated oil mill, with high vaulted ceilings and a good distance between the tables. The only flaw I find is that the walls are pretty naked, a little bit to minimal. The atmosphere is cured, but informal, the staff is really helpful and try it's best to make the customers feel at home. The kitchen is at the same level of the service, local dishes with a gourmet touch, high quality local ingredients and the portions are adequate. They serve the absolute best raw fish I've ever tried, pure lust! The menu in general is cured and polished in the fine details, a few dishes for course, prepared with great mastery and top class ingredients. The price is balanced, that kind of quality has a price and the check fully worths the effort. Listen to me: try it ;-)”

“We were very disappointed by this restaurant. We had travelled all the way from Martina Franca for this restaurant which is in the Michelin guide and had been recommended to us. It's quite a large restaurant but you have to book as there were no free tables for people trying to get in. It's a lovely restaurant too. But the food was very disappointing. We had four courses. The first course was a selection of starters which looked good but were quite bland. We also had the charcuterie board with three meats. They were OK but nothing special. We then had a snail pasta. There were very few snails and again, it was bland. This was followed by a sheep stew which had been recommended by the waitress. It tasted like a regular beef stew and was unremarkable. The sheep was tender but full of small bones so was unpleasant to eat. We were also served a side salad which was very dull, dry and bland. Just a bit of lettuce and carrots. This, with a bottle of water, was 75 euros, which is fairly pricey. Their response will just be an insult, as they do with all critical reviews. Very unprofessional.”

They managed to accommodate me, and thankfully they did as it turned out to be my favourite restaurant in Bari. Over a few days I visited three times and every time was as enjoyable as the last. Seafood spaghetti was my goto, although the starters and desserts were all delicious. Quick, attentive and friendly service on top… and you have somewhere that I will highly recommend to friends. “We found this restaurant a bit by accident, because we were looking for a restaurant open for lunch on Sunday, which is not that easy in Taranto. Luckily Le Due Fontane turned out to be an excellent choice. This fish restaurant has a classic feel to it with it's white and blue interior and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Since we were not very hungry we ordered the antipasti, which were really great. And more than enough to fill up our stomach. Would definitely eat here again.”

The nicest part of the location, obviously, is the big terrace outside with trees and lights to create amazing atmosphere. 4 stars because for such a nice location it should not be accettable to have menus printed on simple piece of paper with oily fingerprints and scratches everywhere, furthermore we had to wait 30 mins for a coffee at the end of our dinner, so the service has room for improvement as well. Otherwise, without considering these 2 points, it really is a great location to taste local fish and other dishes!”
