“It’s definitely a gem in Lisbon. Was recommended by a friend and glad that we did visit the restaurant. The place is relatively small but with excellent services and wonderful atmosphere. My friend and I enjoyed the octopus pasta very much because of its rich flavor and the special fusilli pasta that helps it perfectly absorb the seasoning and the seafood sauce. Starters are also very good. Rather than the chewy texture that we had in Asian, its chicken gizzard has a softer and tender texture, which is different but also nice. I loved how the restaurant serves the utensils with environmental friendly packages; not to mentioned that they look great! Staff are super friendly and humourous. This is the place that I would love to re-visit for my next Lisbon trip. Card is acceptable.”

“Overall, had a positive first experience with fado and glad I tried it once. On the restaurant side, the food is ehh but way more expensive than any other restaurant I went to in Portugal. I do get that you are paying for the experience, atmosphere, and the music, so I get the premium. But at the same time, I have higher standards and this was nothing that special. Some of the entries like the mushroom soup I didn’t even like. Also, the service was very slow and I had to ask several times about the status of my wine order. On the music side, the acts were great and I could really hear the passion in all the singers and the musicians. The fado music was beautiful, although it was annoying that people kept trying to record (which was distracting even though the waiters tried their best to stop the recording). So it was nice, but too pricey to go back a second time”

“Brilliant food. We had the cod and the braised veil main. Delicious food, stylishly presented. The only teeny tiny suggestion would be to tone down the salt. Both dishes were slightly over seasoned with salt, in my opinion. Having said that, I'd still highly recommend this place. We visited after the Aquarium.”

“Everything was excellent! The food, service and atmosphere. Vegetarians can also get to taste at their restaurant with the 6 or 8 course tasting menu. The wine pairing was on point! You get to taste produce (land and sea) from main land Portugal and overseas islands of Portugal that is also for vegetarians which makes this restaurant as accommodative! Definitely recommend for a memorable evening!”

“We dined here today and had a wonderful time. Strong recommendation. A special shout out goes to the waiters who were really over the top friendly and welcoming - they really signaled they themselves are excited about the food and what they are doing here. We had one vegetarian (terra) and one omnivores menu. Both were very creative, all dishes worked and looked beautiful, some really stood out. Especially the vegetarian sweetpotatoe mash with leche de tigre, the mushroom ice cream miso foam dessert and the kiwi cheese petit four. Of course there are always some things that could be improved: * We sat on the patio and it was cold. We didn't know about this when we made the reservation. Not sure if something went wrong with the inside seats or why that was. Staff apologized multiple times for the cold and did the best they could bringing blankets * The wine flight is actually 75 euros not 60 as in the sample menu on the website * What they call sparkling water is barely sparkling. We like really strongly sparkling water. It's bottomless (yay) but still 4 euros each. Not a biggie but could be better. Overall: Fantastic!”

Despite what I originally wanted was not on the menu today, I still enjoyed a big time with the octopus salad and grilled sea-fish(comes with broth-cooked potato and greens). Would definitely want to come back to eat again next time I visit Lisbon.”

“We had such a great evening here! We arrived a little before the restaurant opened without a reservation. The chef found us in his way and snuck us in. The hostess treated us like family and taught us a few words of Portuguese. The food was fantastic. I had cod with black olive paste and caramelized onions and my s.o. Had the squid ink risotto with shrimp, cod and octopus. Both dishes were fantastic. Dessert equally great. And two glasses of wine and bread! Atmosphere is beautiful— large windows, beautifully (and tastefully) painted ceiling. Lighting was just right. Obrigada for a fantastic meal!”

“To say the dishes are creative is an understatement! The fried chicken was so nice I ordered it twice! All dishes are sharing sized, which was good because I wanted to try it all. The space is tiny, but they make due with friendly staff and competent kitchen crew. Great place for date night!”

“Zunzum Gastrobar is excellent! I went there with my family for dinner during the week. The service: our server was terrific; he explained everything about the drinks to my in-laws and ensured they would choose a drink they liked. Since the restaurant was quite empty (it was a Tuesday night), the server also explained to us how the stations in the kitchen work. He was very knowledgeable in explaining the ingredients, processes in the kitchen, and how the flavor would turn out. The food: we got the tasting menu, and it was delicious; all the dishes were very flavourful, my favorite was the cilantro rice! Atmosphere: Modern concept, large room, and plenty of space. I can’t wait to come back and come here again!”

“This was a great local place, despite its location in front of the cathedral. We had the squid kebab they called it (we didn’t see the Portuguese menu) and a pineapple soaked in Port wine. A green wine (vinho verde). All was superb. And I got to speak Portuguese (although I am awful at that) which proves that it is truly local”
