We've never had a bad meal here & it doesn't seem to matter what we order, it's always delicious. The staff are nothing short of wonderful. They are friendly, helpful & nothing is ever too much trouble for them. They will treat you like old friends coming to visit rather than customers. If you love good Italian food & great service then you can't go past Carmen's, a wonderful restaurant with wonderful food & amazing staff.”

“Having known about this restaurant since I was a child, it was a lovely treat to bring my family here for our end of year celebrations. From the outside it would be easy to miss this local gem, nestled in with the suburban landscape on the hills of Terrigal. We were pleasantly surprised with the sophisticated interiors and absolutely blown away with the coastal views. We chose the 3 course menu and every single dish was uniquely delicious, with generous servings that left everyone content. The kids menu was very generous and my daughter loved the high quality food. The service was great from our main waitress, however slightly inconsistent from the others. Overall I would highly recommend The Cowrie as the Summer menu was light, refreshing and was easily the best restaurant we have visited in years in terms of views, taste and consistency. Thank you for making our lunch so memorable.”

My husband had lamb gnocchi, and again with a hint of lamb. My daughter had beef cheek and this seemed to have been both delicious and good portion. For the 3 entrees and 3 mains without alcohol was $222. It was delicious and good experience l.”

The spices are a bit too salty for my liking but maybe it something that i haven't tried but all the produce were fresh and high-quality. “Can't fault a single thing. Food was incredible, we had 7 dishes and loved the whole lot. Can't wait to tuck into the leftovers tomorrow for lunch. Wine selection was great and bottles reasonably priced. The lemon potatoes were far too citrus'sy for my girlfriend (they were pretty zesty) but nonetheless they paired beautifully with the lamb and eggplant. Highly recommend this place to anyone. The ambiance was a little noisy, so it definitely felt better suited to a younger audience. Also, we went as a date night (2). I think in order to get the full experience, this place would be even better with 4+ people, where you can order far more dishes and share the whole lot. There were too many things we wanted to try but with just 2 of us we were limited in the amount we could order and eat. Highly highly highly recommend - this place sets a new standard for Shoal Bay for sure!”

We were only there an hour anyway. I emailed to offer to provide some private feedback but to date they have not responded. Pork belly, dry. And ok. Squid - pub feed quality, sufficient Cauliflower entree, not good. Meal sizes are very small, eat before going there. Overall, the cost makes it a little rough to stomach. Waitstaff were ok, but not what you'd expect in an expensive restaurant. The experience left me wanting, more food, and better service. Thanks.”
