“One of the best experiences I had. There is no menu. But I can say everything was surprising, delicious, new, well presented and unique. It doesn’t seem like a fine dining place but it is. All waitresses, waiters, bartenders are so nice and friendly. If I’m not wrong there were 6 surprising courses. Everything I tasted was perfect, also wines and cocktails. By chance we had a last minute reservation but next time I won’t risk it. Make your reservation earlier.”

“This is Chef Rui Paula's most iconic locations, built on the rocks adjacent to the Atlantic ocean with spectacular views. I recommend lunch only unless it is Summer. We arrived and by chance Chef Rui Paula was there at the entry and greeted us. We were six and had a round table with a marvellous view. We did the 21 moments plus a few bottles of wine, not the pairing. The food was amazing, and we loved the games and culture that went with the courses. The experience took four hours in total. Payment was in advance to secure a booking. For our children here at Christmas it was a highlight. With a modest gratuity the cost for this remarkable Michelin two star experience was just over €300 per person. It was our second visit and we loved it.”

From the moment we checked in for our reservation and being seated on the VIP table, front and center of the stage, it was nothing short of a wonderful evening of Fado music and great cuisine. The service was Impeccable and the staff very friendly, knowledgeable, and provided great suggestions that were nothing short of delicious. The food was fresh, professionally cooked and presented. The Professional Fado singers, and a quartet of Portuguese guitarists and a cello made for an unforgettable night in Porto. Strongly recommend. 5⭐️s”

“Probably the best local restaurant in Sao Lorenzo area!. We were recommended by a local to have dinner here. It was so go we came back a second time during our holiday. Good selection of local Portugese dishes comprising fish and meat dishes. The steak is great value and a single order could easily feed 3 people! Enjoyed the fish dishes. Very popular with locals so need to reserve a table as there is limited seating. I saw many walk-ins turned away by 6.30 pm as tables were already reserved. The management and serving staff speak limited English but friendly and accommodative. Pricing was good value given the size of portions and quality of food. I give the atmosphere 4 stars instead of 5 stars because of the lack of tables and seating space.”

“We arrived around 30 mins after opening without a reservation and were able to get a seat in their courtyard. It was set up with heaters, blankets and a view into the kitchen. Every encounter with the staff from the moment we arrived was so amazing - they were kind, funny, and so attentive. The food and drinks were incredible! And we are already planning our next meal there! It was also lovely to hear they are female owned and operated. We had the most memorable and wonderful time at Gruta. Highly recommended.”

We were staying two nights in Mesão Frio and had dinner there twice as it was so delicious :) Dinner for two persons with a wine bottle, water bottles and starters (on the house) only cost us around 30€. On the next day we also had dessert in addition to the above. There we didn‘t got to pay more than 40€. I would really recommend going there!”

“I love this small cozy traditional restaurant ! ! Everything is delicious and the turbot looks marvelous. We did not order but for sure I will try next time ! The biggest surprise is the dessert : the caramelized cream with orange. I fall in love with it after the first bite. The chef share the receipt with us. Such a kind and nice lady ! “Met friends there on a early Thursday evening and had a marvelous time , ordered 7 tasting plates all beautifully presented with innovating flavors and texture, a scallop dish had an amazing flaky casava root pastry that was buttery and crunchy and so complimented the perfectly cooked scallops. The pork belly is a definite MUST ORDER ! They offer any cocktails you’d desire, great wine selection, friendly knowledgeable English speaking staff and nice outside patio , The only down side is the acoustics , it’s a big space that can be loud, but then that’s not a problem for everyone,”
