The owner talked about how he changed his life around covid period, where, before, he worked in a very busy tourist city of the island, and now he went back to his roots closer to home. Edit, second visit: Visited again, ordered this time paella, again taste is on an another level, they manage to pack so many different flavors, but yet keep it compact and combine them in a flavor harmony. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it was simply perfect. This time we were at rush hour and I have to take back my complaint about service and atmosphere, everything was flawless, even the waiter that seemed lazy last time was a changed person. 10/10 experience. I think last time was simply bad timing, restaurant was almost empty which is why waiters were few, relaxed and show. Gonna repeat myself, I have high standards and the taste is on Michelin star level. Probably best value restaurant I've in so far in my life. First visit: Most importantly the food is amazing! I had a very strange but extremely tasty dish called Arroz negro de sepia y langostinos, that's sepia and prawn black rice. It was really good and unique, had a lot of flavor and the octopus was really tender. I have really high standards, but this was among the top dishes I had in restaurants. Service was a bit slow, there was a combination of few waiters and one seemingly lazy. On top of that no one really spoke English, but all in all still friendly environment. I tested as well the cod that we ordered, which was full of flavor as well. I really want to stress the amount of flavor in both dishes that was exceptionally delightful!”

“Bit overpriced. Other Guachinche I went to were at least half the price. We paid 45 euro for 2 champinones, carne de cabra, ensalada and 2 little bottles of vine. Edit (11/07/23): sorry I don’t take photos of my food. But not sure what you talking about, you didn’t give any dessert to my Mom and I didn’t understand the part with my brother. Are you confusing me with someone else? Basically you shouldn’t call yourself guachinche with such high prices IMO. Are the products sourced at your farm or you just buy them?”

“We arrived at 13:30 - they open at 13:00 - and it was dead. We were the first customers and over the next hour the tables outside filled, but there was only one other couple inside with us. I guess if you want atmosphere you need to eat later. My wife summed up the meal and the whole dining experience as "clean, but no wow factor", which I would agree with. We only had two starters, one main course, bread and two 50cl bottles of water, which cost us €52. Ouch! Everything tasted as it should but there was no excitement to the food. Perhaps it was a bad day or my expectations were too high, but £50 for snacks and water seems rather expensive.”

“We found a small, wonderful, french restaurant in San Augustin during our vacation at Gran Canaria. The restaurant is located on the second floor in a shopping centre, but with outside access, which makes the atmosphere not perfect, but still very comfortable. The major upsides are the quality of the food and the outstanding service from the waiters (middle-aged men with a lot of knowledge and an absolute outstanding mindset of service). The visited the restaurant twice, during our week at Gran Canaria, and we were definitely not dissapointed any of these visits. We examined both the fish, meat, and duck alternatives, including some really great desserts, and with the food wine recommendations were absolutely stunning. This is, most certainly, a restaurant that we will return to, the next timme we are at Gran Canaria, and I can fully recommend a visit (you will not be disappointed. I recommend that you make a reservation, because the restaurant was rather busy, both of the times that we visited it.”
