“We visited La Cabane for a friend's birthday after it being recommended. We were picked up and returned by their own minibus. The driver was very knowledgeable about the restaurant, menu and the locate area. Very interesting. The young waiter who served us presented the catch of the day and gave great advise in a very professional matter. We were served our drinks and food without delay and all the food was absolutely fantastic. I would definitely recommend this as a special night out with excellent staff and food. Only blot was an issue over the bill, where there was an extra bottle of wine added by mistake, was was rectified.”

“The food was very delicious and the service was good too. Just make sure if you have eaten the olives with butter and bread,as starter as we didn't, and they added to the receipt in the end. They have corrected them afterwards.”

“Out of all restaurants in Lagos, this was the best. Octopus salad was super delicious, fried baby Calamari, and fried cod were also good. Smoked sardines were a bit too salty to my taste. Unfortunately, clamps were not available that day. Portuguese stake with egg was good, however, not the way expected by North American standard. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. And by the way, this restaurant is by reservation only. Either call ( owner speaks fluen English) or stop by to reserve.”

“A bit outside of the main promenade, with beautiful terrace overlooking the water. Food was good, portions very generous, service very friendly. The only downside is that they will charge You extra for tapas and bread that they bring without asking, common in Portugal. Overall I would definitely recommend:))”

“Wonderful little restaurant. Really friendly , with a great sense of humour staff , they have greeted us and served us starters in no time . They all were extremely friendly and give us really good recommendations on what to eat . Drinks and food was served quick . We had fish curry and stonebas fish . Both presented beautifully , temperature of food and seasoning was perfect . If you are visiting I highly recommend trying all traditional dishes and local wine as it is fantastic . We left with full belly . Lovely little restaurant, don’t travel no further if you’re staying in the walking distance . I couldn’t recommend this place enough !”

“Best meal we've had in Portugal. It's hard to put it into words that do it justice. You have to order a cataplana and then you'll understand. The lovely woman who served us had been there for 30 years, the cook for 34. The pride and commitment to authentic Portuguese dishes is all the marketing they need to do. Aside from our table, they appeared to know each and every customer. Cool location that's outside the more touristy zone, which only amplifies the experience.”

“We wanted a fantastic Cataplana meal and we got it! We went for the fish Cataplana and a bottle of the house red wine. The dish was filled with fish, clam and prawns along with potatoes and vegetables. They couldn't have packed any more into the dish if they had tried. We really enjoyed it. The service was also excellent. The prices might be slightly higher than other restaurants in the town but you get what you pay for. 5 stars any day of the week.”

“Wow. This is a tough review. The food was fantastic, but we didn't feel we were treated well by the servers. We are not the first to say this, look at the reviews. Before we could finish sitting down, we were getting upsold to an appetizer we didn't want. When we ordered the house wine, we were told not to order it and was sold a bottle 4 Euros more. When we didn't take the appetizer the mood from the servers changed for the worse. We felt we had a rude experience, but we did enjoy the food.”
