“Really beautiful, surprising spot for a fancy dinner. The atmosphere is sublime as it's in a church whose first stone was laid in 1776, the same year as the American Declaration of Independence. Presentation and service are definitely top-notch. Lighting could be tweaked to hightlight the magic of the stained glass windows at night, and we found that several of the dishes lacked a hint of salt, but otherwise, the commitment to local and seasonal cuisine is not only commendable but also deliciously and lovingly done well. Will absolutely recommend for special occasions.”

“Last Thursday, my partner and I enjoyed am 8 course plant based menu at Houdt van Eten along with some cocktails. What a great place to eat! We specifically enjoyed the deep fried tempura veggies & the hummus burgers. The waiters were very friendly & the Frozen Mar-gin-rita cocktail was such a fresh surprise! Would go there again any day of the week!”

“Cozy restaurant, nice atmosphere, great location in the city centre but the service could be better. We were given a nice almost private room in the basement. The decor and atmosphere is quite nice. Food is good. The service wasn't very satisfactory though. It was slow (could be intentional to let people chat), and they would not check that often if someone needed a drink. I asked for water, and that never came.”
