“Firstly the staff are absolutely ace. The staff really make the place. It’s a busy strip of restaurants and they handle the crowds expertly. However, the food is really average and unfortunately brings my rating down for this place. It may have been the particular dish I chose. I had the steak tartare which was marinated in a mayonnaise type condiment. It was so saucy and rich that it took away the beauty and clean taste that a steak tartare should have. Really disappointed. My partner had the beef cheeks which was quite nice albeit too salty. Again, we may just have gotten unlucky on the day.”

“My family and I had a lovely dinner here last night. The service and food were both outstanding. Wine is mostly to be ordered by the bottle. The menu is a surprise, with the option of fish or meat for the main. We had the three course option and thoroughly enjoyed them all. I would definitely recommend if you are in Amboise!”

“I do not know. It was delicious. I recommend. I didn't think to take photos of the plates but a treat. Small downside on the cleanliness of the glasses. And hair found on my plate.....but I just didn't drink from the glass and remove the hair without making a scandal, it's no use. Staff may smile but the quality goes above and beyond. For the price I only had a main course and a dessert, around €24.”

We enjoyed every dish served and found the wait staff to be very friendly and extremely proficient in English. There is no rushing you out the door so we took our time drinking and chatting. Would highly recommend a meal here.”

“Lovely meal here tonight. Restaurant was fairly quiet, but it is out of season. I had salmon cooked perfectly, husband had beef skewers. Very well presented and very appetising. Desserts were delicious too. Together with a bottle of wine we paid 74 Euros which is what we expect to pay in the UK. Staff were extremely friendly and polite. Would recommend.”

“Good welcome, very good and appetizing New Year's Eve meal. If what is cooked is homemade: it's a treat. From start to finish, we enjoyed what was on our plates. The price of the meal on Saturday evening was more than affordable: €57/person (3 of us) house cocktail, glass of champagne (free), starter, main course, cheese plate and dessert as well as 2 herbal teas. We will return there during the week at lunchtime. Happy New Year everyone and keep it up.”

“Really amazing experience at Le Georges. The food was delicious, with many different flavors of fresh and local high quality ingredients. The 3 meal course has "surprise" dishes so we ended up being very full at the end of the meal. The service was excellent and the location and environment was very nice, quiet and private. Also the butter they serve with the bread is the best butter I've tried and it was definitely a highlight of the meal. Really recommend for special occasions!”
