“I specifically asked for no pork and I got a half and half with pork on both sides. I asked a replacement and I got this Pizza. I left extremely disappointed. It shouldn’t be hard to put a side of Pesto if the customer asked for it over 3 times. Alfredo Pasta was okay. The Lemonade mix was very good! Service was ok. I don’t think I’ll be eating this Pizza at all. I nearly left without picking up the pizza although paying for it but, I didn’t want to come off looking rude.”

“This restaurant lived up to the billing. We had a pleasant server in Antoinette and the food was everything we hoped it would be; bold and modern while delivering on taste. They provided champagne toast for my birthday, which is always an appreciated touch that sets the tone for the meal. I don't remember detailed notes about the cocktails, but I remember enjoying them. Would love to see more circulation by the FOH managers, but that would be admittedly nit-picky. We started with the hamachi tataki. The dish itself was relatively anodyne, but the fish was fresh and the traditional combination of pear and daikon was a nice mood setter. Next we had the crispy pig ear. I loved to see this fearless dish on the menu. There were enough unique tastes to see the progressive nature of the kitchen and enough familiar tastes to get less adventurous diners to try it. Tofu and bean sprouts were a beautiful marriage with the crispy pig ear; would definitely suggest for parties of 3 or more to try. The last two dishes we had were the coal roasted cabbage and the lamb noodle; both were exceptional. The cabbage was my favorite dish of the evening, with huge umami flavors. The lamb noodle was more of a comfort food and a crowd pleaser with familiar flavors. High recommend and will definitely return. Looking forward to trying some of the wagyu offerings like A5 and the fried rice.”

“I was heading to the Regal movies at the Carlsbad Mall and wanted to grab dinner before going. I decided to have dinner at Luna Grill and I was pleased with my experience there. Luna Grill is located right next to the movie entrance, making it perfect for a last minute bite before going in. The interior is very spacious and provided many seating options and is perfect for group or family dining scenarios. They even have outdoor patio seating. The interior decor is modern and culturally expressive, clean and well-kept. The noise level is very reasonable for the location. The staff was very knowledgeable and was patient while answering all of my questions. I was assisted by Riley and he helped me choose the Santorini Salad Bowl with gyro meat. My Santorini Salad Bowl was absolutely delicious and filled with many flavors. There was rice, kale, couscous, olives, gyro and everything was so tasty. They also had baklava for dessert. I also appreciate that they have small events to give back to charitable organizations. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Luna Grill at the Carlsbad mall and I recommend them.”

“With a laid-back vibe that perfectly complemented the laid-back beach setting. One of the highlights of the meal was the chicken BBQ flatbread. It was simply delicious, with a perfect balance of tangy barbecue sauce, tender chicken, and a crispy yet chewy flatbread crust. I also tried the spam and pork sandwich, which was decent overall. However, the strong flavors of mustard and pickles somewhat overpowered the delicate taste of the meats, leaving the sandwich feeling a bit unbalanced. While it wasn't a standout dish for me. Next up was the burger, which I found to be a classic, no-frills option. It was a well-prepared, satisfying burger, but it didn't necessarily stand out among the other offerings. However, if you're in the mood for a straightforward, traditional burger, this would definitely hit the spot. The tater tots were a real winner, though. They were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, making for an addictive snack or side dish. On the other hand, the fries were also delicious, with a standout seasoning that elevated the humble potato to a whole new level. The seasoning was so good that it truly made the fries a memorable part of the meal. As for the service, I found it to be quite good. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they made sure that our dining experience was enjoyable throughout.”

“STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST FOR TOURISTS. CONFUSING/FALSE ADVERTISING IN MENU. Visiting from out of town. Thought this would be a nice place to try after day of travel. At dinner time, I looked up menu through website & ordered "Chicken Sandwich" with menu that came up. Got order & had almost nothing correct. Called back as soon as discovered after returning to hotel from 20 minute drive. Apparently a) website just loads the lunch menu when you select basic menu; and b) they have a "chicken sandwich" for lunch & a completely different "chicken sandwich" on dinner menu. Everything else that was ordered from "lunch" menu was apparently identical to diner menu but not this confusing variation of calling 2 different things on menu the same thing. may be worth while for locals but not worth likely mixup for passing through tourists.”

“Zero value for money Oh, what a delightful experience we had at the Beautiful mission bay settings on New Year's Eve! The inside was just as charming as a time capsule from the 80s, complete with a lovely aroma of musty carpet. But fear not, for our hopes were reignited when we laid eyes upon the outside deck with its enchanting fire pits. Alas, our hopes were quickly extinguished once again. We were presented with two options for our dining pleasure: the New Year's Eve menu or the regular menu. Naturally, we opted for the $110 menu per person, because who wouldn't want to indulge in a burger and bar food that's just like any other day of the year? To make the experience even more exquisite, we decided to splurge on the wine pairing. The first plate to grace our table was a lobster bisque that could only be described as a salt mine. I'm not sure if it was meant to be a soup or a science experiment, but either way, it was nearly inedible. Next came the steak, which started off promisingly tender but quickly revealed its true age with each bite. And now, I find myself engaged in a battle with a delightful stomach ache. My husband's salad was a masterpiece of simplicity. The wine pairing, priced at a mere $20 for three glasses, was a steal. And by steal, I mean it was so cheap that we should have known better. The sommelier/(waitress that looked like she had enough of the place too) graciously provided no information about the wines, leaving us to ponder the mysteries of "here a Pinot noir and here a Cabernet." And to top it all off, we were treated to a warm white dessert. Truly a culinary adventure for the ages. Now, I must say, I don't usually concern myself with the price of food as long as it's good. But for the privilege of enduring this horrific experience that nearly ruined our New Year's Eve, I must decline. Thankfully, we have a sense of humor and spent the evening laughing at our misfortune. So, if you do decide to visit this establishment, I suggest you enjoy the view and perhaps have some fires done, but don't expect much more than that. Cheers!”

“𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐎𝐇 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 Review: Coco Maya, San Diego — I debated how I wanted to review this restaurant, but given my experience with Peter Cich, the “Serial” restaurant and bar owner, I decided to go with a more direct approach. -- I can sum this up in one way: when you are known to be a “serial owner,” that means the owner could care less about the service and what’s happening at his restaurant; he just likes the cash flow. Read the whole review at the bottom. I talk about my brief encounter with him. -- Michael Glinter has traveled to 68 countries and 36 states to get the flavor of some amazing foods. His view on reviews is simple – Taste, Presentation, and Service. He believes telling the reader a positive and negative unbiased look at the restaurant is essential. -- Service: Horrific. In fact, it was so bad that I gave below 15%, which I have never done, even at the worst restaurants. We had a reservation. When we first walked in, there were 2 other tables with patrons. So, one would expect it to be a pretty smooth visit. We waited 10 minutes to be seated. Once we got seated, we immediately ordered a hot tottie and a coffee. It took 18 minutes to get a coffee. Of course, when the coffee came, the outside and plate were dirty. We placed our order and waited. It took 47 minutes to get the Maya Breakfast and chilaquiles. -- I always find it interesting as you are waiting to watch the dynamics in the restaurant. Two groups of 2 came into the restaurant and waited at the hostess stand for 12 minutes just for the bartender to come by and say someone would be out shortly. Ten minutes later, someone finally came and sat at the two tables. The table next to us was served their breakfast, and the lady asked for a side of green sauce. The waitress came out with the green sauce once they were done eating. -- Food: We finally received our food, and I will give them credit; the food looked good and tasted good, but I already had a bad taste in my mouth. The food was good. The Jerk Shrimp, which should be served hot, was like warm. Half of the Totopos were stale. I would have told the waitress; however, she never even asked. I would say this: the food was curated well and was picturesque. -- It was a Miami Latin vibe. It had some character. -- Now, where does the owner come in? I was sitting in the restaurant and texted him, letting him know how bad the service was. He called me and said, “Who is this, and how did you get my number?” Here is a little tip, Peter Cich: if a patron tells you they are having a bad experience, you should change your approach. -- My recommendation would be don’t give this guy a dime. Please stay away from Coco Maya and his other restaurants, Miss B’s Coconut Club, Park 101, Louisiana Purchase, Q and A Restaurant, and Cococaban”
