Republic Cantina
4.5
( 8 reviews )

43 N St NW, Washington, DC 20001, United States

“Food and drinks were amazing! Wait staff was courteous and on point! The only bad thing was it was hot as heck and the ac doesn't hit the tables in the back. That was the only bad thing so go on a cool day and enjoy the drinks on their gorgeous deck! Great date spot”

Bandit Taco

Open until 10:00 PM

1946 New Hampshire Ave NW, Washington, DC 20009, United States

“Nice counter serve experience right off U St. I had seen Bandit on a list for best breakfast burrito in DC - it did not disappoint! Huge burritos, pick your own protein. I added guacamole but I might recommend avoiding the guacamole addition on future orders. The burrito was huge without it, so more stuff made it more complicated to eat I think. Can’t wait to go back!”

El Techo
4.2
( 8 reviews ) $$
Closed until 05:00 PM

606 Florida Ave NW #1853, Washington, DC 20001, United States

“El Techo had great signature cocktails, great food, great ambiance, and reasonable prices. They put a time limit on tables so you can get in quickly, get great service, enjoy a couple hours, and make room for the next people!! An extra perk is the free two hour street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods! I definitely recommend. Cheers!”

La Tejana
4.6
( 10 reviews )
Closed until 07:30 AM

3211 Mt Pleasant St NW, Washington, DC 20010, United States

“The breakfast tacos were really good! The shell was soft and fluffy. The price was expensive compared to some amazing tex mex I've had in Texas. ($4.50/taco versus $3.00/taco). If you buy in groups of 6, the price reduces to $4/taco, which is helpful. Portions are somewhat small, but the tacos are still pretty filling for the small size. Flavors are good. Tacos are simple, and satisfying. Outdoor seating is limited to only three tables of 4 seats. Expect long lines and no nearby parking. Service is somewhat slow at the register, but food is quick to cook.”

Alero Restaurant

Open until 11:00 PM

1629 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20009, United States

“This is a new location for this family run Mexican restaurant. It's an explosion of colorful decor. If you had a bad day, come and unwind here. If the lively atmosphere doesn't make you happy, the margaritas will. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our waiter was patient and helpful. We were seated right away. Service is fast. The food is fresh and tasty. Did I mention the margaritas? Well, I tried and loved the Georgia Peach flavored one. This one is served on the rocks. They also have about 5 frozen flavor options. It's loud with music playing and people socializing, but not obnoxious. It's a fairly small restaurant, but the mirrors give it a very open feel. If I lived here locally, I would frequent this restaurant. Good luck for this new location.”

Taqueria Xochi

Closed until 04:00 PM

924 U St NW, Washington, DC 20001, United States

“Birra tacos were delicious! This was on my list for DC, and since I was in the area, I had to hit them up. I was really happy to see they opened a restaurant since I've seen so many reviews during the pandemic. I tried all the birria tacos and they were really delicious....but the guacamole..Bangerang! They don't have any seating but there are plenty of parks around to post up and enjoy.”

“Was very disappointed with the small cup of black beans and huge portion of yellow rice. The chicken still had the neck in it. So I’m wondering if it was properly cleaned. Won’t come here again. Plus some places give you black beans and white rice as 1 side. But they consider when asked for it together as 2 sides.. 🫤 The chicken tasted mushy possibly overcooked (see pics..you can see how it shreds in my hand. The dry chicken in the background). The rice tasted very generic and hard..not fresh. This experience was just bad.”
