“Came in December 2023 and saw the good reviews. The fish tacos were beautiful, but the taco taste didn’t meld as well. It has a chipotle type sauce, slightly salty and the fish was breaded without much flavor. The birria in the loaded birria fries were really salty even with a bite of fries. The carne asada tacos had super spicy salsa on there and the taste was a basic meat, not particularly moist or tender. I typically finish my food, but the flavors are too excessive from the salt and the cheese, so not today. The atmosphere is nice, there is a beach like ground and a nice fire to sit next to. The server is nice, but most of the service is getting a jug of water on the table to pour yourself. The fries are also not gluten free so be aware!”

“Chiquita's had an amazing selection of traditional Mexican dishes as well as some delicious reimagined vegan options. The mango margarita with a spicy rim was delicious and I absolutely recommend it. The highlights of our meal were the carnitas topped on my bowl and the vegan enchilada. They have a beautiful back patio, bar, and outdoor live music when circumstances permit. The owner, Gabriel, came straight to the table to make sure everything was good and tell us a little about the history of the restaurant as well as our opinion on the new vegan enchilada. 10/10 would recommend.”

“El Cuervo is one of my favorite family owned Mexican mom and pops. Their carne asada is marinated well with what I believe are hot carrots and pico. The Carne Asada Chimichanga is huge and tastes amazingly juicy, cheesy and delicious. I’ve also had their carne asada sans tortilla so it’s an option if you don’t want the carbs. Also just had the plain carne asada burrito in the past and it’s tasty. El Cuervo is also my workplace’s favorite place for breakfast burritos. We order the Chorizo, Carne Asada, Bacon and Machaca burritos and they cut them in half or thirds if we ask them to. Also love their salsa bar - pico and the red sauce are my faves. This is a typical counter service restaurant and the service is friendly and typically prompt. There is plenty of seating snd, except occasionally at the lunch hour, I’ve rarely had trouble finding a table here. While this place isn’t as popular as some of the more trendy and Mexican places around San Diego it’s absolutely one of my favorite go-to’s. Parking can be a bit of a challenge at times now that they no longer have the lot immediately adjacent to the restaurant anymore but it’s worth it.”

“If you're in the area, you have to stop here and enjoy this place. We came here while on vacation in the area and I can't wait to come back. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The location was great and we loved the ambience of the restaurant. The chips are salsa were so tasty and they had so many different options of delicious cocktails and mocktails. I got the surf n turf burrito. There are no words to describe how good this burrito was. Easily the best burrito I've ever had. 10/10, can't wait to come back!”

“Outcast Grill is a fantastic neighborhood restaurant with a friendly staff. I occasionally visit when I'm traveling to San Diego. On a relaxed evening, we decided to dine at Outcast Grill. I ordered the mahi burger with a side of spicy fries. The sandwich looked incredible, and the taste and presentation didn't disappoint. However, the mahi was slightly dry, even though I ordered it blackened. The flavor was there but it might have been cooked a tad too long. Despite that, I would still highly recommend this place. The meal was enjoyable, and I plan to return.”

“This was an awesome breakfast place for us on a Sunday morning during the holiday weekend. We got here by 9AM, not busy at all and service was pretty prompt. However, even if it is slow, they're super pleasant. Great food! They have Chilequiles which is kind of rare to find, and you can add in meat if you'd like. It is the farthest of all the dining areas from Hotel Del Coronado, but it's only an extra minute or two of a walk. For the two of us, we spent about $50 without tip. Coffee is excellent too.”

“UPDATE I JUST THREW UP THE FOOD AND HAVE STOMACH PAIN. Ordered 5 rolled tacos. Cashier with A necklace didn't inform me of his special and when I asked for it he charged me normal price and said too late. I asked if he can charge me difference and he wasn't having it. The rolled tacos are trash. We're not made fresh. Came with a smack of guacamole and barely any cheese. This place definitely changed from 2016. The cook was nice as I asked for lettuce and he assisted while cashier was unprofessional in regards saying I wasn't charged for it. Definitely won't be coming back.”

“The atmosphere is great The food wasn’t neither were the drinks The skinny margarita claims to be made with agave but I can easily tell there was simple syrup in it, u can easily know the difference. The people who work there are nice, our group just didn’t get a good feel for the drinks or food. It’s nice to sit outside and listen to music The drinks are about $17-22 each appetizers about 10-15 so it’s not going to be for the ones who are looking for an economical spot. Seems like you’re paying more for the place and atmosphere than the food”

“We had a delicious meal at Diamond Palace. Authentic Cantonese restaurant with excellent service. We ate the black pepper live lobster which was really excellent. We also had hot & sour soup, shrimp shumai, shrimp dumplings, and egg tarts. The tea is good too. Servers walk around offering side dishes from carts you can order as well as ordering directly from the menu. Great for any size party if you want something fun for a large group. Highly recommend!”
