“One of the best Mediterranean restaurants I have been to. My wife isn’t a big fan of Mediterranean food. But she fell in love with the food here. We are vegetarian. Had falafel sandwich and halloumi. They were both delicious. Portion sizes, freshness, quality, price, cleanliness, customer service…everything is just perfect. Halloumi is delicious but felt slightly salty, yet it’s good. And their home made hot sauce is fire and goes well with the sandwiches.”

“We didn’t know that this gem of a restaurant was so near the house but we’re glad we discovered it! The beef kebabs were divine and the servings were huge. Each dish is good for 2 people so expect to take home some food. The Saffron Ice Cream sandwich was a lovely surprise. They also have amazing desserts which we can’t wait to try the next time we’re here!”

“This is a weird little hidden gem restaurant. You enter from what looks to be the back of a take-out place and walk through to a small dining area. Family-run with friendly staff but sometimes communications breaks down... we didn't have any knives at first. Grape leaves and pita was fresh and tasty. Falafels were very flavorful. My husband had the gyro on a salad. I was happy to close the meal with a slice of baklava and Turkish coffee. The owner was excited to provide us with "edible" sweet spoons made of cookie biscuit, and quite the novelty. The food was excellent, and the people quite lovely. Be warned though, access to the restrooms are narrow and not for the handicapped.”

“Wow... one of the best meals ever! I had the chicken kabob platter and my date had the zizis favorite chicken wrap. We shared baklava for desert. The servings were huge and delicious. Lip smacking! The server was friendly, warm, attentive and gracious. We sat outside on a gorgeous day.”

“A must stop on any Philly food list and for good reason. Not a huge menu, but you don’t need one when you make hummus that good. Tried a few options with friends; it was smooth, creamy, and packed with a variety of flavors and spices. It went well with the super soft hummus to dip and vinegar in the fresh salad. I’m glad they’re expanding because they definitely need more room in there. Can’t wait to try it again.”

“Fresh and delicious food. It was made really quick and tasted amazing. The menu has good options and variety. It is a small space with limited seating but it has a very nice atmosphere and the food can be taken to go easily. Good sized portions. I got the sandwich and the bread was very crispy and soft. All of the different sauces are good and have a variety of spice levels.”

We were seated by a somewhat private table but the restaurant was not thrilled when we were standing up and chatting at the beginning and end so maybe not a great spot for a large gathering.”

“Very fancy place for family dinner or a nice date. The food could have been better according to the price tag. I would give food 3:5-4 out of 5. The quantity if huge so be mindful of what you order. The baklava are really nice to end your meal with. Try the chicken sandwich and spicy hummus. The pita breads are the best and softest I have ever eaten.”

“Run don’t walk to the Falafel Shack! We were in town for work and this place popped up as highly recommended! We had a really great meal and the hospitality was top notch! Garnett, our waiter, was busy with waiting all the tables himself but managed perfectly and was super to all of us. We enjoyed our table on the front patio and wow our food came out smoking hot and really fast! Spice level was just enough to make you want some water but not too overpowering where it hides the flavor of the food! I especially loved the fresh pita and the crispy onions on top of my meal. You can see and taste the love put into each meal! If I’m ever in town again, I’ll be visiting!”

“Excellent and fast service. Clean place with lots of seating, nice decor. The food was fresh with generous portions, but some tasted great while other things were just ok. Falafel was excellent, hummus and taboulleh were both good. The spinach pie was okay, the filling and dough tasted off, it needs something. All of the pastries and cookies were very good.”

I finally had a chance to go there and this place is one of the best Middle Eastern food I've had. “Came here on Sunday night. The patio was busy. The servers were very nice and friendly. We had the chicken shish tawook, the vegetarian plate and some falafels. All of the dishes were beautifully presented and tasted very good. The falafels were nice and hot, crispy on the outside. The chicken was nicely seasoned and grilled. The portions were huge. Plenty of leftovers. We had some baklava and it was outstanding. Not too sweet and pleasant for an after dinner treat.”
