“My recent stay at the Franciscan Inn & Suites left much to be desired, presenting a mixed bag of experiences that ranged from thoughtful touches to notable disappointments. Upon arrival, the hotel rooms greeted us with a stark, almost barren atmosphere. Void of carpets or wall decorations, the rooms echoed with sounds, making it all too easy to overhear conversations from adjacent guests. Despite being offered an apparent upgrade to a suite, the reality fell short of expectations. We originally booked a king-size bed, but our suite turned out to have a rather cramped full-size mattress, leading to a less-than-ideal night's sleep. Additionally, the room layout was dominated by smart TVs that, while new, were unconnected to streaming services or basic cable, limiting entertainment options to YouTube. Moreover, these TVs disrupted room movement, creating an awkward and inconvenient space arrangement. The bathroom posed its own set of challenges, with minimal counter space for toiletries and the only semblance of decoration being a couple of intrusive fake plants. A major setback was the inability of the shutters to block out light, resulting in a constant stream of illumination into the room throughout the night. This, coupled with disruptive noise, severely impacted the quality of sleep. However, it wasn't all negative. The staff members were commendably pleasant, and the afternoon cookies provided a small but appreciated gesture amidst the overall disappointment. In summary, the Franciscan Inn & Suites shows potential but currently falls short in delivering a comfortable stay due to its stark rooms, lack of amenities, and sleep-disturbing factors. With enhancements and adjustments, this establishment could significantly improve the guest experience. Until then, it might cater more to individuals less sensitive to sleep disturbances or those seeking rudimentary accommodation.”

“Great location and clean rooms. The pillows are extremely flat, so bring your own pillows if you like some volume. The free continental breakfast place is directly across from the hotel. However, there was a long line to get in, so my husband and I drove out of Solvang for breakfast. Expect to stand in line for a while if you plan to eat breakfast on Saturday morning. Overall, we enjoyed our stay👍”

“I love this adorable little RV park. I started staying here after I retired. It's perfect when I'm in Santa Barbara visiting friends on my way to/from seeing family in LA and my home in Mendocino. The value here compared to the price of hotel rooms in the area is fantastic, and who doesn't love spending time in Santa Barbara? The management and staff are always friendly and helpful. The grounds and restroom/shower rooms clean. I walk to the beach down Milpas, or to Sprouts Market for groceries and a great selection of healthy prepared foods, sandwiches, etc. I drive to downtown SB or the Funk Zone, museums, etc. As some have noted there is noise from the freeway. I heartily recommend cotton-covered wax ear plugs (you can find them on Amazon). They have solved all the campsite noise issues I've experienced since I started traveling the country in my camper van. To me, they are more comfortable and effective than the foam options. I sleep like a rock here.”

“Disgusting disgusting disgusting! After a long drive we decided to pay a little bit extra for what we thought was a nice hotel. Seemed fine for the first few hours. A few hours after we got there my wife showed me some welts on her shoulder. I told her it must have been mosquitoes or something. Soon after that we realized there were bed bugs all over the bed. We told the stuff that the room was infested with bed bugs. They told us to leave in 5 minutes and come back at 10:00 a.m. to get the money back. So we left and bought another room at the motel 6. When we got there at 10:00 a.m. the next day we talked to the owner. They said there was no bed bugs in the room. They took us to the room we stayed in the previous night it looked like they replaced the sheets and the mattresses. A magically had a mattress protector on it it definitely wasn't on there the night before. There are blood stands all over the sheets from killing the bedbugs. This place was terrible and disgusting and they treated us terrible. It's one thing to have bed bugs it's another thing not to give the deposit back and not to refund the money. We were only there for 3 hours three terrible hours. Please don't go to this hotel if you read this. One bed bug can totally infestral your entire house. These people did not care about the well-being of their customers.”

“Our stay at the Haley Hotel was incredibly pleasant. The layout was cute, especially the expansive outdoor common area. The room had everything we could’ve needed, including a refrigerator, microwave, electric kettle, coffee fixings, water, and snacks. I personally loved the nautical theme, and the cool LED fireplace display. Andie, at the front desk, was awesome, super chill, and very helpful. She also recommended excellent spots to check out nearby, which were all within walking distance. The hotel is right in the middle of everything downtown Santa Barbara has to offer. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.”
