Ten Boom Museum
4.6
( 8 reviews )

Barteljorisstraat 19, 2011 RA Haarlem, Netherlands

“For those who are familiar with the story - it's interesting to add a place to the names. It gives you another opportunity to re-live and better understand the significance of their feat of faith in the face of hostility and sure death. Hiding the Jews has never been popular either then nor now, but a heart filled with God's love doesn't care about popularity - it cares about following God's truth and saving all if possible, at all costs, including one's own life. It's a great reminder for all believers out there for our times, as it becomes more relevant with each day.”

Leidseplein
4.6
( 8 reviews )

Leidseplein, 1017 PT Amsterdam, Netherlands

“Nice square with a lot of restaurants and bars. Has more to do than dam square in my opinion, and not as crowded. The square was built In 1660, and its name was taken from the gate which stood there until 1862 and was the gate from which people arrived from thet city of Leiden. Interestingly, The original reason for the construction of the square was to be a parking place for the carriages of those who arrived to the city”

Van Alkemadelaan 1258, 2597 BP Den Haag, Netherlands

“Impressive prisoner stories. Tears rolling on my face when I read the personal stories, narrated from the letters and diaries written by the death row while waiting for execution. Worth it for the visit. You can buy tickets at the museum, but take note of no cash, only credit cards are accepted. There's a small Cafe next to the ticket counter inside the museum. Overall it was a good experience and we highly recommend it.”

Nationaal Monument Kamp Amersfoort
4.5
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 11:00 AM

Loes van Overeemlaan 19, 3832 RZ Leusden, Netherlands

“I found this place to be something else, but in the best way. Here is why: This place has a gloomy history, but they have done such a good job to perserve what is left of it, after the destruction of half the camp many years ago. I paid 12 Euros to enter, You receive a complimentary audio tour and map. What I loved most about this place, once you go down the stairs there are Interviews Regarding former inmates of this camp. Walking along the woods, you see pictures of inmates that survived this campaswell. Objects like eating bowls, Handmaid shoes, and doctor's clothes are all on display in this camp. After everything, you get to sit down and have a good meal before you head back home,in their modern restaurant. ☕️🍪🍲 Have fun.”

Het Depot
4.6
( 16 reviews )
Closed until 11:00 AM

Arboretumlaan 4, 6703 BD Wageningen, Netherlands

“A wonderful museum, first of all the entrance is free, and it’s a 4 floors building with a beautiful collection of statues all representing the human body, by many different artists. The place is very welcoming and you can actually touch the statues ( unless there is written on a specific one that you can’t touch it, but it’s really rare). I enjoy a lot going there.”

Cavaleriemuseum
4.4
( 10 reviews )

Gebouw C, centrale ingang, Barchman Wuytierslaan 198, 3818 LN Amersfoort, Netherlands

“If you have an interest in military history you need to visit this smallish museum. It focuses on the history of the Dutch cavalry and the evolution into AFVss, from the 17th to 21st centuries Main building has lots of exhibits, photos and models. The vehicle collection is impressive and located in a seperate building which you need escorted to as the museum is on a live Military Bas. The staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Impressive collection of working vehicles along with quite a few located around the immediate area. Dont forget you will need ID to gain access but all very straightforward. Well recommended.”

De Wilgenweard
4.5
( 8 reviews )

Sportlaan 6, 7443 RA Nijverdal, Netherlands

“Both escape rooms are pretty good. The bunker was a bit easier but still a lot of fun. The gentleman's room was more complex but very rewarding.”

4.6
( 10 reviews )

Stadsstrand De Kade
4.4
( 10 reviews ) $$

Noorderkade 1027, 1823 CJ Alkmaar, Netherlands

“Pretty cool place to hang around, it is self service based, and a very relaxed ambient with sand floor, right next to the river. Espresso is not so good, but they have variety of beers, so I guess you can find one for your taste. Good thing is a huge parking lot right across the street, so the location is great, although many would bike to this one usually, but for tourists it helps a lot.”

The Beatles Museum
4.4
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 12:00 PM

Pettemerstraat 12A, 1823 CW Alkmaar, Netherlands

“I'm sure that die-hard Beatles fans will love it, but this wasn't for me or my teenage sons (who have little to no knowledge of their music). On the plus side, there's a amazing collection of memorabilia, and all the information boards are translated to English. However, it's quite a passive experience that felt like looking through a collection with no real explanation of what was important and why. Overall, it only captured our attention for about 20 mins and seemed very over-priced for what it was.”

Kristalmuseum
4.5
( 8 reviews )

Burgemeester Bloemersstraat 1, 7271 DA Borculo, Netherlands

“It was a very enjoyable museum. Friendly staff, vast collection in a condensed space, very suitable for kids especially the kid's activities like a quest and hands-on gold-digging with little gemstones. Beautiful location, nice shop.”

Alpaca Eco Farm
4.9
( 10 reviews )

Hoeverweg 13, 1934 PK Egmond aan den Hoef, Netherlands

“Perfect idea for those who, like us - have a sudden need of animal interaction to fulfill. The animals seem happy and taken care of. We chose the only available option- high tea, but don’t expect anything fancy, keep in mind - if you want a proper high tea go to a hotel or pastry shop. Here the main things are alpacas: you get to feed them, pet them and just let them be around. You get an instax photo and a postcard included, also there’s a laminated card with rules and fun facts about those creatures. The staff is also super friendly. I totally recommend this place 🙌🦙”

Recreation The Rosarium
4.3
( 16 reviews ) $$

Molenweg 4, 3941 PT Doorn, Netherlands

“Nice place for lunch, especially if you combine it with a walk in the nearby forest. For families it's a great location, because they offer a wide range of playground activities which are all close to the outdoor terrace. The menu is pretty straightforward and the price / quality ratio is good. They offer salads, sandwiches, pancakes and more so both parents and kids can find something they like. A last tip is to combine lunch with a course of mini golf to stretch your legs after your meal and go for some friendly competition.”
