“Took four kids to see this. Had a great time, especially feeding the fish and walking around outside afterwards. The flowers, fruits, cacti, and other plants are beautiful. (Great restrooms too!) Suggested and non-enforced donation of $5/ person for entry. Twenty-five cents for some fish food.”

Crystal Grottoes Caverns

( 8 reviews )

19821 Shepherdstown Pike, Boonsboro, MD 21713, United States

“Super cool and really happy we went while it was decorated for Halloween. I guess they only have the colorful lights up during this time, otherwise it's just white lights, which I imagine don't give it as much dimension and make things pop as much. Tour guide was adorable and sweet and very knowledgeable. Had a good time.”

Edgar Allan Poe House & Museum

( 16 reviews )

203 N Amity St, Baltimore, MD 21223, United States

“My sister and I were very happy to be able to take our mother (who was visiting from Savannah, GA) to one of the historic homes of Edgar Allen Poe - one of her most favorite writers! This was such a treat! Laura was a great help before our arrival, being attentive and answering very quickly via text to our requests ! Jordan was a wonderful historical guide! He gave us such good information about Poe and my mother was so very pleased. Jordan even shared other historical sites for us to visit for Poe - and we did visit his grave site in Baltimore just a couple of miles (10ish minute walk away)! We are originally from Savannah, GA and we truly appreciate and value history! I'm so glad to have been able to help my mother's visit to Baltimore so very pleasant with this visit!”

Sun Outdoors Frontier Town Western Theme Park

Open until 08:00 PM

8430 Stephen Decatur Hwy, Berlin, MD 21811, United States

“Fun place to camp. Nice little shows and water park included. But for the price of 400$ for a tent site for 3 night you would expect working bathrooms and hot water at least! Way to much golf carts. And no one enforcing rules after midnight.”

Babe Ruth Birthplace And Museum
4.5
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 10:00 AM

216 Emory St, Baltimore, MD 21230, United States

“Located pretty close to Camden Yards, this is a real must-see for anyone interested in baseball. The birthplace of Babe Ruth is commemorated with a museum and historic rooms showing the parlor and bedroom where he was born. It's probably worth checking when games are on as it is quite small and both times I've been has been pretty empty however I don't know how well it would deal with a lot of guests as some of the rooms are quite small. I'm not a huge baseball fan but I like the museum. There are different sections on his home life and career alongside videos and memorabilia (baseball cards too!) and it's really interesting to read and see just how much impact he had and still does today. There's a small gift shop and restrooms too- the entrance is up a few small steps and looks like a house door but I think there's another entrance for guests with mobility issues as well. I have trouble with the door (the entry door does have a little baseball on it so if it doesn't, that's the wrong one!) but if you too can't open the door, for the love of God don't use the doorbell- struggle on or knock! I would say, on both my visits I did find the staff a little brusque, which some could interpret as rude. Listening to other interactions, I think if you're a real baseball fan and can wow them with a good bit of knowledge you might win them over!”

Historic Ellicott City Inc. (hec)
4.7
( 8 reviews )
Open until 05:00 PM

3480 St Johns Ln, Ellicott City, MD 21042, United States

“Ellicott City, a brave land that has survived at least 16 devastating floods from 1817 till 2018 and still stands with beauty and eligence. We were totally floored with the historical importance of the city. The city is named after the Ellicott brothers who established Mills and revolutionized farming.”

National Capital Trolley Museum
4.6
( 16 reviews )

1313 Bonifant Rd, Colesville, MD 20905, United States

“My 6 year old adored this museum. The fascination for trains, tracks, and locomotives in general is well quenched here at the museum. The street car ride, just makes the entire experience multiply. To add to this, having Mr & Mrs Claus just made it more memorable for the kids. Tips: 1. Parking is free on site 2. Book well in advance as it gets sold out 3. Plan for 45-60 mins visit here”

Fenwick Island Lighthouse
4.3
( 16 reviews )

103 146th St, Ocean City, MD 21842, United States

“Alright so we showed up at 10am and on google it states they close at 12. However what google did not state was the lighthouse is closed for the season. With that said it’s still a very cute place to visit. The grounds are well taken care of, they even have an amazing garden pumping out all types of veggies. Definitely come out here in the off season and just walk around, take in the views and enjoy it for what it is.”

11810 Grand Park Ave, North Bethesda, MD 20852, United States

“The adjacent parking garage was like a maze to drive in and out, so we ended up coming out from different side than we entered. Two elevators took groups of us to the 4th floor. We were attending a private luncheon. The buffet started with bread and fruits. The heated entrees came after. The hot and cold beverages were on the bar tops.”
