Chicago Gaelic Park

( 8 reviews ) $$
Open until 11:00 PM

6119 147th St, Oak Forest, IL 60452, United States

“Overall nice venue when it comes to appearance. Great place for Caucasian and similar ethnic backgrounds. Not a great place for African Americans. The staff treated us horrible there when we were there working an event. The management even treated us horrible When We complain to them about how we were being treated and the service that was being provided to us was not equivalent to the people we were working with. All the staff were caucasians and the wait staff were College age teenage students that all had a preconceived notion of how to deal with African-American people. They were misinformed. It's just unfair to go to places like that and get the type of treatment we got.”

“I'm from out of state and I had ordered with this company thou TCG. The owner reached out to me very fast so that's a plus but the only plus cause I waited 30days ordered in Oct and waited till November still didn't receive my cards I ordered from him and when we spoke he asked me to wait cause it was the busy season which I understand but when the time was up. I knew something was wrong and I tried to resolve it with the owner but he wasn't having it. So I contacted TCG player to get my refund back and when I showed them the conversation and proof from Google that I am not the only 1 who is deal with this issue they was more certain to deal with this issue. I am not 1 to be lied too. Probably going to the store is absolutely the better way to get w.e. he selling but buying online with this guy or girl is a dub for me. Thou the pictures it looks great but thou what I experienced was a hell nah. Ladies and gentlemen go to the store if you can but order online at your down risk is all I have to say. Now to the owner try to be more courteous and faithful to the ppl who trying to actually do business with you. I have 3 main cards store I shop from weekly and I have a few on TCG player. Loyal customer are the ones who gonna keep you and the business running. Hope 2024 changes for the better for you.”

Fort De Chartres State Historic Site
4.7
( 16 reviews )

2006, 1350 State Rte 155, Prairie Du Rocher, IL 62277, United States

“Interesting park with unique, partially reconstructed French fort. Very limited signage on the grounds. There is a small museum on site that tells a great history of the area. There were no guides at the fort when we were there on a holiday weekend which was unfortunate. Still a very scenic and unique historical site at a very rural location that tells an important story of early North American history. Seems like it could be so much more with additional resources.”

Kane County Flea Market
4.5
( 8 reviews )

525 S Randall Rd, St. Charles, IL 60174, United States

“Despite 90 temps with full sun this was hands down the best flea market around. We typically go early in the year or late and clearly the most vendors are summertime. Something for everyone! The only negative is cost. I remember it being $2 PP and it’s now $6. The vendor prices were reasonable and large selection of anything you can think of.. we’ll be back!”

Rolling Stones
4.5
( 8 reviews )
Open until 08:00 PM

7300 W Irving Park Rd, Norridge, IL 60706, United States

“Absolutely love Rolling Stones Chicago’s Superstore! Fantastic place to shop for vinyls, both vintage and new releases plus collector vinyls. Also available are CD’s, fun merchandise, movies, a listening station, and more in a great environment. You can spend a-lot of time in here. There were all ages here; saw some 20s, 30s, 40s, and a couple of seniors. This store has been here for a very long time but some of us collectors are going full circle and collecting vinyl’s again and rediscovering places again. I personally collect vinyls of artists that I have seen in person in concerts - many of them vintage, and was able to cross 2 of them off my list. I still like to hold the artwork in my hands unlike digital music. In comparison to my other 2 vinyl stores I frequent this would rank 1 in selection not to mention the fun inside. Rolling Stone has the most to offer IMO overall so will return and I took my daughter with me who ended up loving it too. For those that have to drive a bit, right next door is a really authentic good bakery where you can stop in after and buy a pastry to take home as a little bonus.”

Pirates' Cove Children's Theme Park
4.6
( 8 reviews )

901 Leicester Rd, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007, United States

“This little amusement park is the perfect size for toddlers and great age appropriate activities for littles. I would say ages 2-7 is the sweet spot for Pirate’s Cove. They everything from a merry-go-round to paddle boats, trains, bouncy house and more. If you haven’t been, do it! It’s a super fun family activity, and they have a picnic area on the pirate ship. What’s not to love?!”

The Super Museum
4.5
( 8 reviews )
Open until 06:00 PM

517 Market St, Metropolis, IL 62960, United States

“As a lifelong fan of Superman, it was a dream come true to come to his "hometown." The gift shop is great. So much Superman merchandise, including some pretty rare or exclusive things! The museum is a little hap-hazard, but absolutely FILLED with everything related to the Man of Steel! Christopher Reeves cape, Kirk Allen's Superman costume, and Perry White's desk from Adventures of Superman are all on display, as well as just about EVERYTHING that Superman ever had his name on. The huge statue is very cool, and a short walk takes you to a statue of Lois, commemorating Noel Neill! Staff was super (no pun intended) friendly and helpful. Worth the trip to any fan of the Metropolis Marvel!!”

Lincoln Tomb State Historic Site
4.9
( 8 reviews )

1500 Monument Avenue Cemetery, W Oak Ridge St, Springfield, IL 62702, United States

“This was a very interesting place to visit. We visited Lincolns Tomb after visiting his home, the museum/library, New Old Salem, and other historical places in the area. It was enlightening getting to walk in Lincolns shoes for a bit. Going back in time and getting to see the world through his eyes. We discussed the differences in how families worked back then vs now. There was no line at the tomb. We went through slowly and soaked it all in. I suggest going and checking it out if you are in Springfield, IL.”

“Beer is fantastic and the staff is wonderful. They have a large, gorgeously lit event space where they have live music most Thursdays - Saturdays. Their main front tap room looks into the back brewing area. There is also a large front patio area (with heaters for cooler fall months) and a grassy lawn area/beer garden. Food trucks are there multiple nights throughout the week and there’s trivia night on Wednesdays. Kid-friendly and inclusive, Tighthead is truly the best!”

I loved being greeted and the enthusiasm displayed by the amazing people there. I love the sounds of the coqui when you walk outside. Reminds me of home. Fantastic place to come with the family and show support.”

Chess Records
4.9
( 8 reviews )

2120 S Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60616, United States

“It's very difficult to review such an iconic place such as Chess Records. From the moment you go in you can feel the energy of the building and almost hear the music coming out of the walls right at you. Whether it's Muddy, Willie, Buddy, The Rolling Stones Etta James or the Great Willie Dixon they've all passed through here. Janine, who gives the tour, clearly loves her job and is a part of the fabric of the building. She is a fountain of knowledge and very pleasant to talk with. She has put her heart and soul into Chess and I really hope that it continues to be successful for her and and everyone connected. If you don't visit then you haven't really been to Chicago.”

Jane Addams Hull-house Museum
