“I was pleasantly surprised by Pravda - the interior has a dark, lofty vibe with exposed brick, chandeliers and velvet couches. They also have a belly dancer performing (i happened to be there on a Saturday so I can’t confirm whether they offer this on other days of the week). I really found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating - our server was very attentive and despite it getting quite busy, she did make sure to check in with our larger group for drink orders. I loved the mature crowd this place has, mid 30s+ more or less. Their drink menu is great, it’s nice to see options that are light and fresh like their gin + carbonated water + lime (rather than your typical rum + coke options at other clubs/bars).”

“Absolutely delicious fish and chips! They greeted me, told me I could sit anywhere, proceeded to their nice bathrooms, and then I got an amber old flame, which was also great. The fish and chips came with Ketchup, Gravy, and a great coleslaw. Everything was great, and our staff member was very helpful. Will be back again and again whenever we visit Whitby!”

There was a lively crowd present during their good karaoke. There's one thing about this restaurant that you should exercise caution with. The waitress will still bring you beer/drinks even after you tell her you're done and ready for the bill. Out of consideration for her, you might not refuse and let her continue. “Had such a great experience with Cold Tea this weekend. Not sure about the other reviews but I had booked booths/bottle service for my birthday and had no issues at all. Huge shout out to our host Veronica who did an amazing job. Her service was on point, flexible and understood everything we needed. We had no issues accessing the washrooms downstairs. The food for purchase during the event was better than what I could have bought elsewhere on the street! The overall vibe was perfect and all staff were nice, friendly and did not come off pretentious in any way. Thanks again!”

Drinks are always expensive everywhere so can’t complain there. Staff was sweet, especially for my large group of people! Drinks menu and prices along with food reviews included in the other pics! Highly recommend the Dancing Queen cocktail. The cheese/sliced meat/olive/jam/baguette appetizer and the hummus dish was a great shareable - they give more hummus than bread tbh.”

“I'm surprised I have not reviewed this place when I have been here twice. First time was during lunch on a Saturday and I had the Jerk Chicken Fettuccine which was very delicious! And had 2 glasses of piña colada that day with 3 cherries on top each glass. Friends ordered the fish and chips, spaghetti with meatballs which I had on my 2nd visit to the place and I didn't like it. The meatballs were a bit salty and kind of dry. My friends seem to have enjoyed their Pub Classic chicken wings with varying spiciness and I wished that I ordered the same. I also had fried calamari which was good with 2 diff types of dipping sauce provided and a piña colada this time with only 1 cherry on top (see photos to compare). Will blame it on the economy and not on the bar. Too bad I didn't order their chocolate lava cake for the 2nd time around. My friends also had the Black Tiger Prawn Linguini (also salty I was told), Hawaiian fish tacos and Jake's Classic fish and chips. By around 8pm on that Friday night the Popp Gun band started playing with mixed repertoire from 60s-90s. We started playing "name that tune" in our table. Band wasn't pitch perfect but they were fun to sing along to and listen to, drums and the guitars were good. Overall we had a fun Friday night despite regretting my order and will be sticking to white sauce pasta for next time (Jerk chicken Fettuccine). Although I checked their menu online and this place still has a lot to offer and I was wondering why I didn't try their more interesting meals (unless the menu online is no longer updated vs the bar's actual menu). Photos really help in making decisions on what to order. Parking is not an issue and service is very good. We get checked once in a while unlike other places where you get annoyingly asked if you need anything else like every 10 minutes of interrupting your conversation or while you're busy chewing your food and you want to be left alone. Probably pressuring you to either order or vacate the table for other customers. I will be open to going back to Jake's if it's chosen again as our meet up venue. Perhaps on a Saturday night for next time. P.S. The washroom is kept clean which is one other important thing.”
