“I'll start by saying that I usually Really like this place. I'm always telling people how everything here is so good and it's a must try when in Portland whether you are vegan, vegetarian or just like good food. Their vegan chili cheese fries are my favorite thing to call in and pick up after a long day or just when I'm craving them, but this time was really disappointing. when I called I was told it would be 40 minutes for my order. I didn't realize they were having an event but I was willing to wait. Unfortunately, it was not worth the wait. When I finally got my order, the food looked like it was literally thrown together. The portion was off from normal and the fries were cold and soggy even though I was already there waiting before they brought it out. Super bummed but unfortunately I didn't know until I got to my car and it wasn't worth walking back in and waiting for them to remake it that night.”

“Proper grub at this spot. Great food that feels very authentic. I would recommend the bangers and mash or the shepherds pie. Grab a pint while you’re there! I like their blood orange cider. As for atmosphere this place feels like a classic pub in every way. Come on down for a traditional pub experience without the tourist price. The service has been quick and kind. No complaints here!”

“Definitely my favorite dive bar in Portland. Nothing bad to say. The greater majority of the patrons are very friendly. It is a place you will run into people you know. Absolutely amazing fried chicken. Well worth the wait. The atmosphere is much more lax than your typical bar and grill. All of the bartenders work very hard and in my opinion go above and beyond to maintain the whole bar during busy hours while cooking lots of fried chicken.. also there's just one fryer so best be ready to relax and enjoy your time. “This is my favorite spot to go and write. Cozy, low key vibes, community oriented space. And I love being surrounded by books. It's quirky to be sure, but in a very charming way. It's also quiet enough to actually have a conversation which is something I've struggled to find in Portland's bustling cafe/bar scene. I always get the hummus plate as it's a perfect snack. The hummus is really good, tastes homemade. The book collection is eclectic and fun to peruse. The one thing I don't love is that the three times I've been in, the radio is what's playing overhead, and the constant ads are pretty annoying when trying to read or write. Luckily it's not too loud and it doesn't stop me from going. Just something I hope they change at some point.”

“If you were in bar. Security guy checked your ID immediately and he puts the stamp on your wrist. When you got a stamp on your wrist they didn’t check your ID anymore that night. music sounds so loud. Very crowded place because they opened the bar at late night. Only few places opened at midnight. This place is a very popular. Beers were cold enough and fresh. Order some foods are difficult and tough because bar staffs were so busy and crowded. They seemed like a super busy.”

“Was looking for a good breakfast and bloody mary place. Came to Pub 181. Was welcomed by Krystal. I have to say, her service was hands down possibly the best I have ever had... anywhere. She made me a bloody mary and I told her I like a little spice. She made me one, brought it out and a few minutes later came back and basically said she could do better... and she did. I didn't even ask her to do that. She is attentive and super respectful! The pub is clean, good lighting, pool tables, large menu. I give this bar and it's bartenders a 10/10. Great job! And I will 100% be back!!! :)”
