And everything tasted so great especially the bun, which was my favorite. I wouldn’t recommend the sea salted caramel drink with green tea as it’s just cream with green tea. I also love the hipster elements here, the plants and the light wood really brings this place alive ! The service is great and everyone is so friendly and attentive.”

However everyone comes here local politicians, workers in the neighborhood even celebrities have visited this place and all leave Happy. Try the Spring Rolls their fantastic ! “One of the best spots in San Diego for authentic Vietnamese food! When you enter, it’s loud and busy, so you know it’s going to be good. Service is fast, you get all of your food out at the same time relatively quickly. The guy taking my order didn’t even have to write anything down and he took other tables orders after too 😂 We ordered calamari appetizer, bun thit nuong and egg roll, bun rieu, broken rice, and seafood pho. Everything was great!! Loved the calamari, I would recommend the bun thit nuong and egg rolls, the egg rolls are very filling! All of the portions are big and decent pricing, mostly under $15 each. Other tips: If you google maps, it’ll take you to the back parking lot, so come around to park at the front. The parking lot is free. Also, after eating, you pay at the counter, and they accept credit cards.”

I don’t mind paying a little more for good food and good portions. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t great and the protein portions were nonexistent. Not to mention the service was real slow when it wasn’t even busy. We ordered summer rolls that were basically veggie rolls because there was so little meat in them. We then ordered a pot of seafood soup and there was so little seafood in it. It was again almost like a veggie soup with sprinkles of seafood. I will say it was one of the better tasting broths I’ve had. Lastly, we ordered pork and noodle dish which was a regular portion order that was a really small portion for the price. The ambiance in this place is just ok. I do also want to mention it’s kind of an eye sore to be sitting and dining and having a direct line of sight to dirty dishes piled up in bus tubs. All in all this is a pass for me.”

“October 2023 It's a damn good DIVE! :) Good spot for fair priced food, good quality, and served fast. I like this place, shanty shack vibe, hot, humid and all. The food is good, huge portions. My reviews and the places I go to tend to steer towards value for what you're paying. This place definitely gives you really good portion sizes, quality in their food, and a lot of value, that's for sure. They don't skimp. What impressed me was the Pad Thai noodles. They were not too sweet, were served at a really decent temperature, and they pack it full of chicken. So it's not just all noodle, no action. LOL. I guess because too many people were coming in here with allergies, they cut back on the peanuts. If you'd like them in the dish, you just have to specify that you want them. Same holds true for the scallions. Adding the peanuts in the scallions I think makes all the difference in the world, and brings that fresh grassy note to the dish. So if you're not allergic, go ahead, and splurge on nuts and grass. The Thai fried rice was good too. Huge portion size, and packed full of chicken as well. They don't skimp on the proteins here as you can tell. The flavor is great. You can tell they use a little bit of broth to flavor their rice. It was tasty, and the rice has a nice chew texture in your mouth. Just between these two dishes, I'd say you could feed minimum two people that were really big eaters, probably three if you all ate responsibly, maybe four if you ordered one more appetizer or a side dish or something. The Thai iced tea is great, not overly sweet. It's the typical Thai iced tea you would find in any other Thai establishment. Nothing special, but simple and to the point. The only downside to this place when I visited on a "warm" 70F degree, October day was that the main dining area was a little hot and humid, even with the windows open, and a small air conditioner blasting. I think it's because the sun is blasting this place at a 45° angle from morning through the late afternoon. The outside of the building has seen better days, but for being about 300 ft from the water, it's understandable that this place looks like a Beach Shack from the outside. Over all though, this is one of the few places in the Malibu area, between Topanga and say Kanan that offers Asian themed food. If fancy schmancy is your cup of tea, just take it to go. Lol. The food is still great either way. If you're staying at a bed and breakfast, out of town visitor, maybe you're a roaming pack of wild motorcycle riders, or bicycle Enthusiast passing through the area, this might be a good spot for inexpensive, quality food, and a great price! Don't expect anything in terms of the atmosphere, but if food is your only agenda, this place aims to please. PS: YES, they have separate Men and Women bathrooms”

“The atmosphere was friendly and girl that helped me was very patient and helpful. Now the cake...was a huge waste of money. The order was for a gluten free marble cake with Venetian cream with the black forest design that has cherries on top. The birthday girl was with me when I picked it up, so I wasn't able to ask for a manager and request a refund for the joke of a cake they tried to give me. First, I ordered in 5 days in advance and let them know I would pick it up on the 28th at 10am. The bakery called me 30 minutes before I was supposed to be there to pick it up to let me know it wouldn't be ready. I was understanding and said I could be there 1130am. When I arrived, the cake was shown to me and it looked nothing like the display they had shown me. The top was not covered in cherries as I was told it would be and shown, instead there was a bitter tasting chocolate. Next, the cake was incredibly dry and the Venetian cream was incredibly scarce that it seemed like they ran out halfway through making the cake. I will never buy from you guys again. I hope you do BETTER.”

“We ordered two types of dumplings — fish and chive and pork and cabbage. The wrappers had a nice chewy texture and the dumplings were pretty good! I liked the fish and chive ones a bit better, but there are a whole host of filling options. Prices are pretty reasonable for the area. There is a 5% cash discount for orders over $15. Overall, a decent no-frills spot to get a variety of dumplings. We’ll probably come back to try some of their other offerings.”

“First time eating here and it wasn’t bad. If you walk in to order there are two kiosk stands. The staff will come out to help you. After you follow them to the cpu yet to pay for your food. They call you up when it’s done. I ordered the oysters and sweet potato fries. The fries were really good. The oyster should have been fried a little more for the crunch. We put them in the oven and it made them crunchier!! My niece ordered chicken fingers and enjoyed them. I did not like the seafood boil. It was really oily and it just didn’t have the kick I was looking for. It should have also been spicier. I would give the seafood boil 2/5. The oysters and sweet potatoes I would give 3/5.”
