Irabu Soba Kame

Nagahama-251 Irabu, Miyakojima, Okinawa 906-0000, Japan

“Although I'm not very used to eating it, I felt that it was the classic Okinawa soba. It was very delicious. Recommended. If you visit at a delicate time, you can reserve a private place and the rice bowl will arrive fairly quickly after ordering. I was lucky. When I was leaving the store, there were a few customers who had come in by mistake. The location of the store where I bought the bottle is close to the parking lot, but it was a little difficult to find, so be careful.”

“I was staying at Shigira Resort and had been looking for Hirochan Shokudo for lunch before my trip. The store has a parking space, so it's easy to visit by car. I visited during the day, and there were many customers inside the restaurant, which had table seats and tatami seats, making it a true "dining room." The menu is quite extensive, including fries and stir-fries, as well as set meals. I took the opportunity to order Miyako soba. When you get the set, it's a luxurious full set that comes with Miyako soba, rice, and a la carte dish. However, I was curious about the miso rice balls listed on the wall, so Single item Miyako soba and miso rice ball. Miyako soba has three pieces of boneless meat on top, and contrary to its appearance, it is so soft that you can easily bite into it with your teeth. The soup stock has a gentle flavor of bonito and pork. Overall, I appreciated the sense of security and gentle taste. So, I was glad that I didn't have to be greedy with fries or stir-fry. Miyako soba ¥750 Miso rice ball ¥200 This is reasonable. Thank you for the meal.”

“Delicious souki soba. Inexpensive. Although I can speak a little bit of Japanese, they weren't too keen about Americans (however, I'm half Okinawan-Japanese) visiting their establishment which was a little disappointing.”

“Soki soba with an unusual cloudy soup. As you can see, it has a taste derived from pork bones reminiscent of Hakata pork bones, but it also has the taste of traditional soki soba derived from seafood, making it a true hybrid taste, and the synergistic effect allows you to enjoy a soup with a strong umami flavor. Although it is not the Soki soba, it has a complete taste and is very delicious. If you're going on a Soki soba tour, this is a great place to add to your list to meet new people.”

“Dumplings are so small but good. The dipping ramen I got had a lot of bonito in it which I am a fan of but wow it was so overpowering. The broth ramens are better in my opinion. Very small seating area and even smaller outside seating.”

“Gabuaoka shokudo is a great Okinawa restaurant. Very local place to enjoy authentic Okinawa food. I had Tebichi jiru and Goya champru dishes which I recommend if you are looking for something other than the original So-ki soba. Good experience !”

“This restaurant is popular for its zaru soba made with locally produced buckwheat flour and its wide variety of tempura. The menu only includes a set of zaru soba and tempura, or a set of udon and tempura. When I visited the store, the "Omakase Set" that was on the menu was not available. As for soba, I only had zaru soba, but I was told that I could choose between cold or hot udon. Regarding the zaru soba set I ordered, I feel that tastes are divided. If you are expecting Edomae-style sophisticated or flavorful Shinshu soba, you may be a little disappointed. The homemade soba noodles are thick and have a firm texture, with a slight soba aroma. However, the surface is rough. When I looked at the noodles being made in front of the cash register, I saw that they had taken out the dough from a plastic bag and were rolling it out, and there was a tool like a manual pasta machine next to it, so it didn't seem like they were making the noodles freshly by hand. Also, the soba soup was sweet with a hint of dashi. There are 13 types of tempura available, including fried tofu, and the ingredients include chopped grass, chopped burdock, king king mushroom, celery, chives, chopped carrots, mozuku, papaya, eggplant, banana, hibiscus, and banana sprouts. Ta. It's fried crispy and crispy, and you can even make it at home. In addition to tempura, there was also an appetizer plate with stewed burdock root, simmered radish, and pickles. It seems like it was featured on TV in the past, and customers were coming to the store one after another. However, operations were not going well, and it was a chaotic situation where it was difficult to keep track of who ordered and ate what. Therefore, the comment in the Google Maps review, ``I waited an hour for the soba noodles'' was understandable. Overall, I'm satisfied with the cost performance, but it's best to avoid having too high expectations for the soba and tempura.”

“The food is amazing, but if you dislike sweating while you eat I highly suggest you only visit during the winter months. I love this sukemen ramen, so in early June I visited there and the temp inside was miserable, we ended up leaving with out eating our food. Even the Okinawans were complaining about it being too hot, in nine years I have never heard those words come out of an Okinawans mouth. Before leaving we asked them to turn the A/C down colder but was told it was on max.”
