The garden café is what it says a café inside a garden, as tables were placed among the plants. Very accurate in keeping up with the tone, the menu is French inspired, soups, pies, toasties, few types of omelettes. I had the most amazing omelette with goat cheese and salad and I walked around the garden statues and garden décor items. Amazing place and such a positive atmosphere. Portion sizes were very generous, I was sad to leave unfinished food at the table! Drinks were good. Berry smoothie was a bit unpleasant with the amount of seeds, would’ve been fantastic strained. More recently, I heard some positive fuss about the new chef Lucio and so when we saw the Gemtree winery dinner advertised we decided to give it a go. SO GLAD WE DID! The food was absolutely gorgeous, I couldn't fault it. Simple ingredients, perfectly balanced, elegantly presented. I'm half Italian and picky about Italian food and this impressed me. The view is stunning, so make sure you arrive before sunset. Service was lovely. Hearing Lucio speak, it's clear how much pasison he has for food, and the respect he has for his ingredients. Highly recommend attending a winery dinner at Il Piatto if you ever get the chance. I'm yet to try their standard menu but I definitely will soon.”
