“Went for a "Meet the author" event. It was a children's author named Bill Clanton. He writes a series of books about a narwhal and a jellyfish. It started at 6 and he spoke for about an hour before he started the book signing. Many of the people stayed so their children could get their books signed. The library itself is very clean, very well laid out and the staff very friendly. However many of the families had multiple children and multiple books to be signed. Kids will be kids....... but....... the majority of these kids were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. And their parents were letting them. If I ever would have acted like that in the library my mom would've whooped my tail. I kept my tongue-in-cheek and did not let my thoughts come out of my mouth. I waited patiently in line with my daughter for over an hour and a half with all the ruckus going on around us and finally got to the front of the line to have her book signed. The poor staff looked tired and like they wanted to say something as well but they kept a smile on their face and kept the line moving as quickly as possible. Overall it was a good experience and I can't wait for the next "meet the author" event.”
