“Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea at one of our favourite cafes, after deciding to try it for our annual festive treat. Lovely service (including a courtesy call the day before to check our dietary requirements). Simple, fresh sandwiches, interesting warm savoury tarts, melt in the mouth fresh, warm blueberry scones (with clotted cream and jam ;)) and an dinky selection of mini cheesecake, macarons, carrot cake and a zesty tart with a sprinkling of fresh fruit. All accompanied with lovely cuppas. We weren't rushed and, aside from it being a little noisy as the place was busy all afternoon, we'd a great time.”

“Beautiful church interior with plenty of seats. Friendly staff and quick service. I ordered the Oreo cake (£3.9), which is surprisingly filling and not too sweet. However, it’s on the dry side and I couldn’t finish my slice due to the large portion. My friend ordered a cappuccino, and the mug is very big! Had a pleasant time, particularly enjoyed the view of the stained glass from the upper floor. It wasn’t too busy when we arrived at 12:15 on a Sunday 😃”

“I came to Bath recently, for the first time, on a mini little break before starting at the University part time. I did my research before travelling, and saw Mokoko was highly rated due to its pastries and scenic location right by Bath Abbey and the Roman Baths. I decided to add it to my foodie list, and arrived as the shop opened at 9am, and it was a Monday. I was so earlier the pastries had not been put out on the counter! I had planned to get an Almond Croissant, seeing amazing reviews for this, but overheard that these were not on the menu on that day (something to keep in mind if you're going for a specific item!). I wondered what else was on the menu and was given a list of options, where I picked the Almond Praline Chocolate Pain Suisse. It was a mild morning so I was able to sit outside, looking onto the amazing view of the Abbey - as well as the pastry! Now this was definitely one of the prettiest pastries I have even seen, which was a very positive start. Given the pastries had just been bought out I did almost expect it to be warm, which it was not at all. Nevertheless, I bit into the pain suisse. This was beautiful. The pastry was amazingly crispy and buttery - you can tell they use real butter opposed to margarine (not only by the taste but also by how the pastry comes together when you bite into it). The filling was plentiful, and the nuttiness well balanced with the chocolate. This is one of the best pastries I have ever eaten, made better by the views this place has to offer. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend popping by Mokoko if you're in Bath, and intend on returning myself (hopefully to try the Almond Croissant!)”

“The Palm Court’s afternoon tea was an incredible experience! I have never received such high-quality service in my life. The attentive staff and live harp music made the afternoon feel so elegant. The tea selection was massive - when my friend asked for the whole list, they provided a book with over 50 different teas listed inside. The food was delicious and flavourful, and I wasn’t expecting to feel so full afterwards! They kindly boxed my desserts for me and even provided us with tins of tea to take home! They also have the most beautiful bathroom I’ve ever seen. The price is so worth it!”
