Almeida Theatre
4.7
( 10 reviews )

Almeida St, London N1 1TA, United Kingdom

“First visit to the Almedia Theatre. Front of House staff. Friendly and helpful. Cafe/bar reasonable I think the theatre is across two buildings. But the performance space in one. Show: Portia Coughlan A moving and difficult at times play. The cast is excellent. Especially, Alison Oliver as the titular Portia. The play set in Ireland through I've not met an Irish woman called Portia. Kathy Kiera Clarke is excellent in both comedic parts and the more serious elements of the play. A very powerful play.”

“Really good musical, great actors. Just wanted a bit more of a sing along that did not happen. I was certain they would sing their best songs at the end with the public.”

“This is a wonderful place.to come. Studio 1 is a really interesting space and the set put up for the play I saw was really cleverly done. Very intimate and inclusive theatre. The bar was wonderful! Kiln Theatre
4.6
( 8 reviews )

269 Kilburn High Rd, London NW6 7JR, United Kingdom

“Sam Tutty and Dujonna Gift put on an absolutely amazing performance in Two Strangers Carry a cake across New York. At first glance you would think such a small production wouldn’t rival the bigger names on the West End. But everything from the performance to the live music was amazing. The script was comedic and lively and the actors just brought everything to life. The last show is in end of January and I definitely recommend watching this musical. Absolutely amazing and is a worthy contender with cheaper tickets to the other bigger names on Broadway”

“Me and my partner attended Comedy Carnival and had a wonderful evening full of laughter. The comedians and the host were hilarious. Upon arrival we were shown to our seats and the show began promptly. Bar service was quick and guests given the opportunity to use the toilet and grab another drink during an interval between acts. Highly recommended!”

“We went here on Sunday as a group of 6. The pub was busy with the rugby being on but we managed to find a table. There was a good selection of beers and the staff were friendly and service very good. The chicken roast was fantastic, not dry and absolutely full of flavour that you could tell of its quality. Others at the table had the beef and said this was also brilliant. The sides were also great and really elevated the meal. Will definitely be going back and looking forward to trying more of the menu.”

“Visited a Family Barn Dance event, so take this review with a pinch of salt if you're not dancing with the kids. The main venue is the large Kennedy Hall, with stage, surround seating, and of course room for dancing. This event was well-organised, with caller and musicians up on stage, two or three helpful staff milling around just in case, and (usually but not today), a cafe downstairs serving cold drinks to sweaty people. The format for this event was about 90 minutes long, with each section lasting around 10 minutes, first starting with a detailed explanation of each dance, then the band joins in for the main thing. Now and again, a short break allowed some breathing space before we set off again. The English Folk Dance and Song Society events here include concerts / gigs, but many participatory events from dancing to instrumental and singing groups. Have also attended here for an evening comedy performance, which was crammed full. The place is accessible as far as I could tell, with a lift from street level to all floors. The nearest tube is Camden Town on the Northern Line, about 10 minute's walk away. What's nearby? You're very close to Primrose Hill, Regent's Park and London Zoo.”

Donmar Warehouse
4.7
( 8 reviews )

41 Earlham St, London WC2H 9LX, United Kingdom

“Theatre as it's meant to be! Intimate theatre in the round. Home of quality productions, with some of the best actors around. Whole place oozes charm with friendly staff in abundance. Couple of small bars. Innovative version of Macbeth with David Tennant and Cush Jumbo blew me away with its brilliance! Happy theatre goer 😎 …”

Queen Elizabeth Hall

Southbank Centre, Belvedere Rd, London SE1 8XX, United Kingdom

“My first time here, which I cannot believe and why it's taken so long to do so. Saw Riopy and it was an excellent piano performance from him, highly recommend it in terms of the venue and seeing this type of performance. It's the Southbank Queen Elizabeth Hall and I look forward to going again. If you're visiting London and there's someone you like performing here, make sure to do so. Solid A***** LDT x”

Dark Sphere

186 Hercules Rd, London SE1 7LD, United Kingdom

“Friendly staff and good facilities. Has an extremely active Magic the Gathering scene, as well as a few regular D&D groups. War gaming is also present here, mostly Warhammer 40k, but there are tables to suit most popular games systems. Terrain is laid out for you, and staff do offer to add or remove some as the customer wishes. Good quality gaming mats are also provided for you. The shop has full shelves, and it’s possible to order in Games Workshop products with a generous discount. Other makers are available on site, but I’m not massively familiar with them. Loses some points, but it’s not doom and gloom. - Being in a train arch, the sound of passing carriages can make it hard to hear conversation sometimes, but if you’re a regular you may not even realise the sound anymore. - Wargaming tables don’t have much space around them. Chairs are provided to put bags and books but it’s far from ideal. You’ll be standing butt to butt with other gamers on some days. - Probably the worst point; the loo - it is kept clean so the toilet itself is not the issue. However, the door does not have any closing mechanism and the reek can then waft over the war gaming tables without mercy. Patrons sometimes forget to close the door after they are finished and so the misery is shared to all in attendance. Could be a nod to Nurgle by a fan... Overall, a nice play to play a few games with friends, and then pick up new pieces for the next time you wish to play.”

Kenneth More Theatre

“We saw Peter Pan Panto. It was amazing! We have seen many pantos at a range of venues and this is now my new favourite. The cast come out into to audience. Very interactive. Cheap tickets, cheap refreshments and clean toilets. Highly recommend.”

“Nice beer selection, great atmosphere to hang out or for a night out, lovely sofa corners and the atmosphere of a well maintained old pub, spacious, music, food, garden, by the station and nearby places for even more browsing.
