“We were given a dog that was said to be good with cats, the website said no, but it was said several times that it was. The dog had been in the shelter for a year. And has also been with another family in the meantime. The dog came on a trial basis for 2 weeks after a home visit. In 1 week he grabbed the cats twice, 4 of them could have been prevented the 1st time by grabbing his collar in time, I called the shelter and they had to get used to each other, the behaviorist said, and I had to rub the stair gate with sambal which had to be spread on cling film because he opened it. It helped for a while... a few days later he continued to be wild about the cats and 2 days before the official adoption, he grabbed our cat and shook it like it was a rag doll. After struggling to loosen the jaws, the cat was freed, the dog continued to growl and was put outside shortly afterwards, and the cat died. I called late in the evening, they were quite laconic about it and said I could bring the dog back. I don't have any transport myself, so I told them to do that the next morning. Put the dog in the shed for the rest of the night. Kept barking all night, next morning he was picked up again, we no longer have a cat. Hope this dog is not placed anywhere, never experienced such a dog, the sweetest of the cats is now dead. My daughter's cat. While we have recently had to put 2 dogs to sleep and my friend recently passed away, about which I had informed them in advance. We were missing a buddy. Now we're afraid of dogs thanks to Beau.”
