“Fabulous! I had one of the best Calzone I've ever eaten in my life. Many friends have celebrated their birthdays here. Large establishment that can accommodate larger groups. Very friendly staff and absolutely top notch Mediterranean cuisine priced fairly. A stones throw from Winterthur main station. In the summer they have extensive outdoor seating. Can only recommend 👌”

Our pizza expectations generally don't include the apparently standard Italian ethic of a soggy middle, and we have found Italian places in CH that don't share it. Our pizzas here tasted good and the outer crust was nice, but holding a slice was not an option.. and both pizzas suffered this same malady.”

“Went there spontaneous with a party of four. Had no reservations. Got a corner table in the cave along with a party of 30ish people and children. Needless to say we had troubles enjoying. The waiter made all things possible to get us a table upstairs in the quiet area where we could finally enjoy the amazing food they serve. Original Italian cuisine, with a hint of swiss touch. Good service and friendly ambiente! def worth a visit”

“We had not very successful experience in the restaurant. We ordered meat and risotto. The meat was good, but risotto was like a dish from a canteen. I dare to assume that parboiled rice was used for cooking, not traditional rice varieties like arborio rice or carnaroli. I prefer smaller portion or to pay more but to eat really italian risotto.”

“The Cavallino is a surprisingly good restaurant. From the outside it looks very much like a traditional, somewhat boring Swiss restaurant, but it contains a lot more than the package communicates. The menu contains a large selection of high quality meat, ranging from chicken to angus beef and bison filet. The meat is served on hot stones and with fantastic sauces. The service is friendly, the prices are upper class. If you have the budget, make sure to give it a try.”

A bottle of mineral water cost more than a cup of tea/coffee.”
