“We’ve been to Pat’s a handful of times since discovering it. When we first started going here you could drop by anytime during business hours and get a table. That is not the case anymore, especially on the weekends and for good reason! We’ve celebrated birthdays, anniversary and a new job for our son at this establishment. There pasta dishes are amazing. We always get the pasta flight. It’s made for two but we order individually, lol. The pizza is amazing. Not like your traditional pizza joints. They also have excellent appetizers. If you plan on trying this restaurant on the weekend make sure to get a reservation in advance. Like a week in advance.”

“Had lunch here the other day and was really impressed. We ordered the Tomato Basil Soup, the Peruvian Chicken Soup (so new it was not even listed on the menu) and the Cheesy Breadsticks. Both soups were very tasty and were filling. The Cheesy Breadsticks were served with a side of marinara and a side of garlic butter and it was all amazing. We finished off with oatmeal raisin cookies which were quite tasty. Prices were a little more than I expected but the meal was quite worth it.”

The staff was very friendly and accommodating...Shout out to the hostess Bella, not only was she gracious and informative about the restaurant, but said it would be a 10 minute wait and she was spot on! As we walked in, the aroma of an Italian kitchen had us set on getting a couple of pizzas! We ordered the Chicken, Bacon and Broccoli Ranch Pie...which was over the top fantastic and also a vegan style pizza called Humble Pie. Wasn't sure how that second one was going to taste but let me tell you it was out of this world! The unique style of a square pizza gave us a crispy crust on all sides and it was just delicious!! Can't wait to visit again, as their menu is packed with all kinds of yummy items! I can see why Iron Born Pizza has won so many awards!! Kudos to the chef and they're wonderful staff!! You have to give this restaurant a try, it won't disappoint!!”

“I don’t like to leave pizza reviews since people have different taste in pizza. But I think this place deserves a review since they make what you ask for. Sunday Oct 17th 8 PM. We called and ordered a thin crust pizza, will done. I know for sure that it’s not that easy to get a thin crust right, and get the pie crispy without burning it. But they did it right, it was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had in my life, and trust me, I try every pizza place when I go anywhere. Yes the sauce is sweet, but not extra sweet, it’s the right balance, specially that tomato sauce loses it’s sweetness when cooked. Very well done Franzone’s, and thank you for listening and make a pizza exactly how I ordered it. Thin and well done!”

It feels like a hidden gem in the heart of Altoona and I liked the Altoona style Sicilian. It is not the greatest pizza but it is very good and different. It was nice to see all of the outdoor seating, and it would have been a perfect night to eat outside. “I grew up eating Mineos in 90s going to Washington and Mellon School but haven't had it since 2010 until a few days ago. The decor, layout and design are identical to when I went regularly and pizza tasted exactly the same but bit more expensive at 2.25 rather than the 90-1.25 cent slices when I ate it a lot. It's perfectly average greasy pizza that hits the spot any time in a convenient location and seemingly has the exact same staff from 30 years ago putting their passion into it. Reminds me of 2.99 two slices and drink in Times Square New York City.”
