“My mom passed away on September 17, 2023. I had no clue as to what to expect. My mind was put at ease when the transport team arrived. They were very professional and considerate. They handled her body gently and respectfully. Monday I got a call from Aida Gonzalez arranging a meeting with my brother and myself. When we arrived, she was waiting for us. She expressed her condolences and asked if she could get us anything. She then took us to a planning room. Everything you could want for a funeral service and somethings you wouldn’t think of was laid out for us. She asked the necessary questions and offered suggestions that made the planning process a lot easier. She was very professional but she made us feel like we had all know each other for years. The day of the funeral she was right there taking care of us as well as the family and friends. We couldn’t have asked for a better director. What really stood out to my brother and myself happened twelve (12) days later when our dad passed away. Once again, the transport team came and just like before, they handled him the same way as they did our mom with respect, courtesy and compassion. Once again, Aida was right there, offering her support and compassion. Not for one second did she take for granted the fact we had just been through this process. She treated us just like she did the first time. I would recommend Mackey Mortuary Woodlawn Memorial Park to anyone. They truly do care about you and your loved one. I asked if any employees that were notaries would be in later in the day and was told no, it would be several days. I have noticed new employees don’t greet you asking if they can assist you-you simply get a look from them like they just don’t want to be bothered. Customer service is no longer #1 at this location.”
