“Delicious and large servings of rice will be served. The food tastes home-cooked, and seeing the employees working hard gives me energy. It is not recommended for women or those who eat little, but it is recommended for those who like to eat big.”

3905 Kubaru, Yamaga, Kumamoto 861-0522, Japan

“Even though the price has been raised from 450 yen to 500 yen per adult, there are many places where you can't use the lockers with keys in the changing rooms, and you also have to put 100 yen in the shoe lockers and lock them and get your money back when you leave (in the changing rooms). (Also) It's a good idea, but since it has a lock, when you open it to use it, there are too many cases where you can't use it because there are shoes inside. It's sad that there are so many people with bad manners. It's a shame because the hot water is good.”

2 Chome-2-15 Central, Matsumoto, Nagano 390-0811, Japan

“Kaiundo is a Japanese sweets shop founded in 1884 (Meiji 17), a 6-minute walk from JR Matsumoto Station. A wide variety of Japanese sweets, including the popular product "Mamito" Stores that carry it. It's a large store with a beautiful exterior and interior, so you wouldn't think it's a long-established store. While I was at the mercy of a wide variety of sweets, I ended up picking up ``Mamito.'' This sweet, invented in the mid-Taisho period, was used as a tea ceremony sweet at tea parties held in Matsumoto in the early Showa period. It was named ``Mamisto'' by the Urasenke Tandansai master who found it optimal. It is said that it was done. When I first tried it, I noticed that it had a moist, mushy texture, just like Japanese nougat. It's slightly sweet, and the walnuts inside add a nice accent. I was out of matcha, so I had it with hot tea. I tried it and found that it goes really well with tea! A prestigious confection representing Shinshu, one word of excellence. It's a sweet that you don't get to see very often, so it was delicious.”

1 Chome-2378 Nimyo, Nara, 631-0072, Japan

“A few days ago, on the occasion of my partners birthday, we went to a "Tōfu and Yuba" restaurant in Nara, Japan. Located in Nimyo (Nara Prefecture) along NR 7, its called "Ume no Hana" or "Plum Blossom". A Japanese garden surrounds the restaurant and inside are separate rooms for guests to dine. You can choose between western or Japanese style seating. There is a Japanese inner style garden with a water basin. The dinner served in traditional Japanese ceramics, and lacquerware was very beautiful. Part of the experience is the presentation and arrangement of the food. The accompanying pictures will speak for themselves. For some courses, you will need a reservation, though. There is a time limit of two hours to enjoy your meal, which is more than enough.”

“Absolutely delicious meal! Very kind and attentive staff. Accommodating for a family with a stroller. Plenty of parking. We ordered one of the Wagyu Shabu-Shabu meals for two. Be prepared, it is a lot of food! The staff was kind enough to explain each food item with English translations as they brought it out. They even drew a diagram for one of the plates.”
