“Historical. Gay. Vibe. It’s a friendly local bar to end your day and start the night. The bar food is hearty. The staff are fab. The crowd are mostly partnered New Yorkers trying to be SJP or Samantha from SatC but half of them probably don’t know the reference. But it’s definitely a vibe.”

Aldo Sohm Wine Bar

( 8 reviews )
Closed until 04:00 PM

151 W 51st St, New York, NY 10019, United States

“I was ecstatic to give this a visit on our trip to the big apple- the end result was just alright. We didn’t have a reservation, and we’re seated at our choosing (the bar) Kevin was attentive, and helpful with which wine to navigate next with. Four stars as -the aracini was a bit dry, needs more sauce or perhaps over cooked slightly. The plate needed a little finish wipe (nothing to cry over), the bursted tomatoes were a highlight of this dish with the pesto -truffle pasta lacked sauce too, and not much flavor, another dish that was just ok -short rib was spot on of the three, the mushrooms were delicate and delightful; the short rib pulled apart without tugging, too very little to no fatty pieces present -a plus note, all dishes had beautiful presentation to them -our neighbors had the tower, which was a unique way of cheese + charcuterie Overall, experience was pretty good, wine list was plenty to offer, especially when there’s wine you don’t normally get to try, atmosphere was cozy. I would absolutely come here for a glass with a friend or book. Wanted to try the wine flight, ran out of time.”

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The decor was perfect to feel like a cozy neighborhood bar that you would want to go to and hang out and have a few drinks without any pretentiousness. We will be back!”

“We were in town from Pittsburgh for the weekend and specifically came here as it was a Steelers bar. We loved the atmosphere and passion of Steelers Nation NYC, complete with a DJ. Nice setup for a game and they have drink and food specials during the game. We had the nachos, a Guinness and a margarita. The margarita was delicious as well as the nachos. Good service. Thanks for a fun time. We will definitely return when in town and tell others about Printers Alley.”

The Ivory Peacock

Closed until 12:00 PM

38 W 26th St, New York, NY 10010, United States

“Was in on a rainy night . It was not very packed . I would be curious on what the usual weekend crowd is. For the volume of people the service was very slow . Probably sat for 20 minutes or so before someone came over . Was friendly but not very attentive. The food was pretty solid . Burger was not bad . Fries were awesome. I would definitely be interested in trying more things . The space is very charming . Has a very romantic vibe . I could come back . I would expect the service to be bad if more people were there .”
