“Proper grub at this spot. Great food that feels very authentic. I would recommend the bangers and mash or the shepherds pie. Grab a pint while you’re there! I like their blood orange cider. As for atmosphere this place feels like a classic pub in every way. Come on down for a traditional pub experience without the tourist price. The service has been quick and kind. No complaints here!”

“This is my favorite spot to go and write. Cozy, low key vibes, community oriented space. And I love being surrounded by books. It's quirky to be sure, but in a very charming way. It's also quiet enough to actually have a conversation which is something I've struggled to find in Portland's bustling cafe/bar scene. I always get the hummus plate as it's a perfect snack. The hummus is really good, tastes homemade. The book collection is eclectic and fun to peruse. The one thing I don't love is that the three times I've been in, the radio is what's playing overhead, and the constant ads are pretty annoying when trying to read or write. Luckily it's not too loud and it doesn't stop me from going. Just something I hope they change at some point.”

“Was looking for a good breakfast and bloody mary place. Came to Pub 181. Was welcomed by Krystal. I have to say, her service was hands down possibly the best I have ever had... anywhere. She made me a bloody mary and I told her I like a little spice. She made me one, brought it out and a few minutes later came back and basically said she could do better... and she did. I didn't even ask her to do that. She is attentive and super respectful! The pub is clean, good lighting, pool tables, large menu. I give this bar and it's bartenders a 10/10. Great job! And I will 100% be back!!! :)”

“Fresh hops beer are one of the best. All other beers that I tasted were excellent. Very spacious and open seating with social distancing. You can bring your own food and enjoy with a sip of beer and friends. Food trucks around. They have 20 oz beers for $6. Some of the DIPA are 12 oz and $6. Most reasonable pricing in PNW.”

“We stopped by the electric lettuce dispensary on Broadway to pick up some edibles. We asked the bud tender there if they knew any cool bars nearby that we could check out. We were looking to have a few drinks since it was our friends last night in town. They recommended the Vern with high praise. So we figured we would go check it out since it was in a different part of town than we were used to. I'm so happy they recommended this place, because it was so cool. A very authentic experience with great drinks and excellent service. We will definitely be back.”

“This is one of my favorite go-to spots. The drinks are always solid. The food is good and they have some of the best bartenders in town! If you're out and about in Northwest, check it out. They have a great side patio where you can have an intimate conversation or hang out with a bunch of friends. It can be a little pricey but it's well worth it!”
