“The finest Irish pub outside of Ireland? Very possible. Always a good time in the Shillelagh, always an interesting crowd and the staff are always really sound and on the ball. Good for watching matches - rugby , GAA and football. Tis narrow for sure, but thats part of its charm”

“We enjoyed a Sunday evening cocktail here; I particularly recommend the Bonnie Margarita made with scotch bonnet chillies if you like your drink with a kick! Also a good range of local beers and an incredible range of Irish Whiskeys which we will definitely try next time. Bar staff were friendly & knowledgeable and it was a warm and friendly place.”

Satan's Whiskers, 343 Cambridge Heath Rd, London E2 9RA, United Kingdom

“This is definitely one of the best cocktail bar in the world. You wouldn’t expect this is the best cocktail bar in the world by its outside appearance, but the atmosphere inside is completely different. Cocktail are all very affordable given the multiple awards that they had. Service are all very good, staff are friendly. Recommend to sit by the bar table as you get to see how the best cocktail is being made. Menu will also update regularly so u dont get the same boring drink.”

“Delightful small old pub built in the 1600's and a great atmosphere. I enjoyed a delicious pint of Adnam's Ghost Ale - and although we weren't hungry, there was an excellent choice of food. We found it by chance while walking around …”

The Hemingford Arms

“The Hemmingford Arms, a wonderful eccentric welcoming pub. Shock horror, no real ales on today, the cellar cooler is broken, sorry Timmy Taylor. Great happy service from the man who fixes everything (except the cooler). A really good pub, I love it.”

The Queens

26 Broadway Parade, London N8 9DE, United Kingdom

“I can only offer a five star as a default. The welcome from the young Korean lady at the bar, amazing and maybe we shall argue over Welsh or Korean for some time to come. The place is a super late Victorian pub but with the most fantastic Art Deco windows, simply amazing. The ceiling is also stunning. A great privilege to be able to have a beer with these people.”

Coach & Horses

( 8 reviews ) $$

42 Wellington St, London WC2E 7BD, United Kingdom

“🚇Covent Garden 🍺 £5.80 Amstel ❤️ A welcoming family run Freehouse. . The Coach & Horses is located opposite the Royal Opera House in a quiet side street on the edge of Covent Garden. The nearest Tube is Covent Garden which is a four minute walk away. . The pub dates back to the 1730’s, the current building was built in the early 19th century. This pub has been run by the same Irish family for the last forty years. . This is a cosy one bar boozer that feels welcoming and homely. The servery is situated on the left hand side and has a sturdy solid dark wood counter. The bar area seating is all stools and poser tables which works well in this busy little pub. The pale green walls are adorned with photos of pub celebrations, claims to fame and black and white scenes of times gone by. This pub boasts a red carpet, the cornerstone of any top London boozer. . The beer selection was good and included lots of familiar favourites, two cask ales and of course Guinness. The Guinness here is well celebrated, so much so that The Irish Post once voted the Guinness here as the best in Britain. If you are partial to a short, there are over 70 Irish whiskeys and gins plus Scottish whiskies too. I was on the lager all day so I decided on an Amstel, my pint was excellent, well kept and price point was average. The food is basically sandwiches – but what excellent sandwiches they are. Hot sausages, salt beef, roast beef and baked ham are all served on your choice of bread with gherkins and crisps on the side. . We arrived just after 4pm on a Saturday afternoon and the place was absolutely heaving. The atmosphere here was superb, the vibe was upbeat and buzzy. The crowd was a mix from all walks of life, the pub was as busy outside as in. The service was efficient, the team here were very much on the ball. . The Coach & Horses is one of the most hospitable pubs you’ll find anywhere around Central London, this is a must visit London pub. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 29.04.23”

The Kings Arms

“Been to Sunday lunch today at The KINGS ARMS today ... Was told the rooftop terrace was nice ... Its a ski theme on the terrace so old wooden cable spools for tables and smaller one for chairs ,... Had a lovely starter of fresh cooked spicy wings made in the pub there were stunning and a chorizo prawn toast in creamy sauce which was stunning and tasty... I had a couple of standbys and the mixed meat Sunday roast that was very good ... I admit I did indulge in the afters which was a .ixed very crumble and ice cream for the big eaters out there.. that was a 10 out of 10 for me I'm a sweet toothed guy.. 💯👍 ... our waitress Sarah was very attentive and proffesional alot of young people seem not so enthusiastic about there jobs not so for sarah smiling proffesional and couteous. Well done sarah because of you and the good food we will be back. Couple of pictures for the foodies a very nice old pub..”

“Seemed like a nice atmosphere but I was promptly told to leave as I had a dog. Certainly the first pub I've been into which doesn't allow dogs. If they are trying to differentiate themselves by describing themselves as a "dog-free zone" they are going the wrong way about it given around a 1/3 of households in the uk own a dog...”

“This is such an underrated pub. It's in a nice part of London and has a fantastic atmosphere with a mix of old regulars, students and tourists. There are usually a couple of good ales on and the prices are good for the centre of London.Very friendly and welcoming staff. Haven't tried the food but heard it's good for the price.”

Jamaica Wine House
4.3
( 8 reviews ) $$

St Michael's Alley, London EC3V 9DS, United Kingdom

“Easy to see why this 600yr old pub is a must visit. The original step has been worn down by its patrons. The service is good with friendly staff, good beers on tap. In summer there is an open back courtyard that makes it more enjoyable. Just for the men, only place which has a line for the toilets. Else a top notch with friends. May not be kid friendly after 5pm.”

The Bow Bells

Closed until 12:00 PM

116 Bow Rd, Bow, London E3 3AA, United Kingdom

“I don’t drink that much and am not keen on “pub vibes”.. but personally I felt comfortable while being here. Staffs were attentive and helpful, and even offered us a free pint of Kronenburg for the delayed pizza. I had read several reviews saying that the pizzas are good before visiting. They’re not lying and I won’t lie either. It was undoubtedly one of the best pizzas in my whole life. It was more than worth the wait. Simple but top notch flavour with good ingredients.”

Cock Tavern

“Fantastic pub, with a great selection of beer. Gluten free beer options are very impressive and they’re apparently launching a gluten free fish and chips soon!!! 🤩 The menu is excellent, and very vegan friendly. Well worth a visit if you’re in town!”

The Carpenters Arms

68-70 Whitfield St, Greater, London W1T 4EY, United Kingdom

“What a great pub! We were looking for a fun spot with some energy and so many pubs in the neighborhood were pretty quiet. This one had a lot of young folks and international students/travelers. The upstairs is awesome with a large well-lit patio and a nice old bar room. Downstairs is more formal with elegant bar rooms. Landlord on cask in addition to plenty other draft beers. Finally tried Neck Oil which is everywhere and it was pretty darn good. Staff were young and friendly. Can’t recommend enough!”

The Cavendish Arms
4.5
( 8 reviews ) $$
Closed until 04:00 PM

128 Hartington Rd, London SW8 2HJ, United Kingdom

“🚇 Nine Elms 🍺 £5.75 Freedom Lager ❤️ One of London’s most uniquely decorated pubs. . The Cavendish Arms is located in a residential area in the western part of Stockwell. Nine Elms is the nearest tube and is just over a five minute walk away. . This pub’s architecture is typical 1960’s estate pub, this type of pub is ever becoming a rare sight on the London pub landscape these days. . This is a two room pub, the left hand side is used as a comedy club, live music and events venue, the right hand side is the main bar. . Now on to the decor, if you can imagine if DFS had a showroom in Soho in the 1970’s then I think it might look a bit like this, this place is absolute bananas. There is every different type of sofa, soft furnishing, flowery rug and trinket you can think off all of which are covered in fairy lights. At the front of the pub are a few gazebo’s with yet more sofas to relax in over the warmer months. . The beer line up was pretty good which included one real ale and a few craft brews. I decided to go off piste and tried the Freedom Lager, it was a decent pint and pleasingly under six nicker. . We arrived not long after opening just after 4pm on a Saturday afternoon. We were the first punters in and to say we were amazed by our surroundings was an understatement. We got chatting to the very welcoming Guv’nor who was telling us all about his pub of which he is very proud of. We popped next door to check out the events area, it is a good size space complete with stage. . @thecavendisharmsstockwell is a very unique boozer which is all about having a bit of fun. This place is definitely the case where the collars don’t match the cuffs, the inside and outside of the pub couldn’t be more different. This is definitely a must visit pub just for the decor alone. Check out their socials for upcoming events. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 28.01.23”

The Tommyfield

“I decided to try this pub because there was a 50% off food for January. I had high expectations for the pie as it says outside “Famous pies” and there was no disappointment, the pie was very different then any other pies I had before and also very tasty. What surprised me the most it was the big chunks of lean, tender and juicy beef, usually we don’t get this quality in pies, also the flavours were very good and I absolutely enjoyed it. In the other hand my husband didn’t enjoy his burger, he described it as bland but to be honest I think he could go for a better option as burgers we can get a lot better in burger restaurants. The prices are a bit on the higher side, specially the burgers which was £17 and £18.50. I think the burgers costing more than the pie doesn’t make any sense as the pie is way better than the burgers. I also enjoyed my panettone French toast, but it would be even better if there was a bit more sweetness as the jam was not very sweet and the chantilly was not sweet at all, I think it would be perfect if it’s served with some maple syrup. I was quite disappointed as I couldn’t get my non alcoholic mojito, I was informed that it was not possible to make it because there was no fruits, the delivery hasn’t arrived at almost 4pm. Service could also be better as there were 2 people serving and most of the time it took us long to get someone to notice we were calling, despite the pub being almost empty, however as soon as we ordered our food we didn’t wait for long, so the chef did a great job. I liked the experience but I didn’t love it, I have mixed feelings and I’m not sure if I’ll be returning.”
