6-9 Hachimancho, Hanno, Saitama 357-0033, Japan

“About 8 minutes walk from the north exit of Hanno Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line. If you are coming by car, if you go from the direction of Hanno Station, go down a slightly narrow road from the Hirokoji intersection and there is a free parking lot (next to the back of the store) with 7 spaces. Please note that the road is quite narrow (two-way traffic is possible). If the parking lot is full, we recommend that you use nearby coin parking. (Around 200 yen/h) *There was a line of cars after 12:00, but I thought it was a nuisance. It's a pretty narrow road, so I thought I'd have good manners. It's a tatami-only restaurant (you need to take off your shoes) with about 20 seats. If there is a line, you can come and pick up the menu, so please order in advance. Payment is by cash only. Many reviews say that the amount of noodles is about 400g for an average size, but I felt that the average size was 300g and the large size was around 450g. The soup can only be served hot, but the udon can be served cold. *When I asked the female staff member, she said she didn't know the amount of noodles, so I just experienced it. Arrived by car at 11:25 on a weekday in November 2023. The parking lot has 3 parking spaces for customers. I was 4th in line out of 3 people waiting. As a result, it was delivered at 11:47. Depending on the timing, you may have to wait a while. This time, Tsure and I ordered ``Meat Tsuyu Udon (medium) 780 yen'', ``Meat Tsuyu Udon (large) 860 yen'', ``Squid Tempura 140 yen'', and ``Kakiage 140 yen''. The soup for Nikutsuyu Udon (large) is flavored with Kanto-style bonito and has a mildly sweet flavor. Although it was a small bowl, the salt was effective, so even a large bowl was more than enough. The ingredients are plentiful, with mushrooms, thickly sliced shiitake mushrooms, pork belly, and green onions. The udon has a smooth texture that is neither Musashino udon nor Sanuki udon. This is fine. The udon also gives the impression of being salty. The kakiage (kakiage) and squid were more like a grandma's dish, which was more crunchy than crunchy, and went well with this soup. You can cut it up and serve it, so even if you cut it in half, there was more than enough for two people. A not-so-spicy side of Asakusa? Shichimi? It comes with yuzu seasoning, so you can use it as you like. Boiled soup is also served together. As mentioned earlier, the salt is quite effective. Somehow, I was imagining the regional Musashino udon, but it was a unique type of udon that I could eat without having to strain my shoulders, which made me feel very warm. The building is over 100 years old and has a wonderful atmosphere, which may be the best thing about this restaurant.”

“2023/12/02 Visited right after opening on a Saturday afternoon. It took 50 minutes from the time I parked in the large, undivided parking space (maybe it could hold about 15 cars if packed) to the time I left. It might be easier to get in if you come after 12:00 rather than right after the store opens. I ordered the tsukemen because of the reputation of the taste and the photogenic appearance, but the kakunidon was also quite impressive. The soup was refreshing and the noodles were smooth and went down smoothly. 2,000 yen is quite a bit of money, but the three types of char siu alone were quite filling and satisfying. Payment is by meal ticket system and cash only.”

“Honestly, it was a disappointing ramen. The chashu is thin and tasteless, the menma has no taste and no texture, the noodles are soft and chewy, and the soup is soy sauce-based, but it's not delicious either because the taste is weak or because the stock isn't strong enough. Maybe it's because the water is so sweet that it becomes lukewarm after eating about half of it. Unlike Eifuku-cho, it doesn't have a film on it, and I can't feel the warm scent of bonito flakes, so there are no times when I think it's delicious. I'm glad that it's quite cheap for Eifuku-cho, but there were other things besides the price. I can honestly say that those who give this ramen a high rating are those who have no sense of taste and have never eaten truly delicious food. The parking lot is difficult to find, but it is located a little far away.”

“It's my first visit in over 10 years. As I was driving along National Route 254, I saw an empty parking lot, so I reluctantly stopped by. As expected, the number of customers continues to come even after the wait time in the store. I was worried about meat and vegetable tanmen, but I verbally ordered chili tomato tanmen, waited a while, and got the bowl at the counter. A refreshing Japanese-style soup with slightly dried sardines and a slightly spicy chili tomato. It's well balanced with crunchy vegetables and fried onions. The noodles are a little soft, but go down smoothly. I arranged it with Tabasco and pepper and made it cool at once. Thank you for the meal.”

“Usually order the Tsukemen which comes with plenty of pork meat - tasty and filling. It’s one of my favourite places for food and very near to the station. The noodles have a somewhat unique chewing texture that is hard to describe. Try it :)”

“Visit for dinner I ordered the shabu-shabu course with matsutake mushrooms. I ate the matsutake mushrooms grilled over charcoal, and they were fragrant and delicious. As expected, this is a specialty store for meat, so there's no doubt about it. The quantity feels just right. It's about 12,000 yen per person for two people, including a course and a glass of cheap wine, so it's perfect for when you want to have a luxurious dinner. However, this restaurant is far from the station or bus stop, so it's a bit tedious to go to eat by public transportation.”

“It's in front of Hon-Kawagoe Station, and thankfully it's open until midnight, so when I go here, I almost always drink heavily and end up going to the third restaurant or later... The medium-thin noodles that go down easily and the soup that lingers are so delicious that you can't help but stop for ramen and beer to finish off your meal. People who like tonkotsu ramen seem to specify various degrees of hardness for the noodles, but I always stick to normal. Maybe you don't understand the correct taste of Issashi Zen Ramen _(._.)_ I think it's better to choose the time of day you go because the crowd is like that at night.”
