Ramen Ishida

“One of the top 2 ramen in the US outside of Japan. It is that good. Small space of only 10 ppl but that new tokyo shoyu ramen deliver. There are a lot of “best ramen ever” post out there but this is the only place worthy of that title in NYC. ChaSiu Don was a great appetizer. I am quite harsh on ramen but the light truffle with the shoyu soup base is amazing. Highly recommended. Come give it a try and lmk if I am wrong”

“Great small ramen location in bustling NYC with great selections and friendly staff, there’s also a range of mangas available to read and past the time, overall fun experience. Ramen was well balanced, portions were large and price was good. Service was very attentive and professional.”

“Amazing sushi and ramen/udon spot. I can’t wait to come back, and will recommend it to others. I highly recommend getting the vegetarian pancake with bonito flakes, it is suppose to come with pork belly, but I asked them not to include that since I was eating with a vegetarian. I had ramen in my friend had mushroom udon, and we were both very full. We also got hot sake, which I highly recommend, it’s always a great addition to any meal :) The service was wonderful, the staff was very kind and attentive. Thank you!”

“A small ramen restaurant with not so many seats. We visited on Sunday noon, and it’s pretty empty. The restaurant is specialized with spicy noodles. My husband tried mild and I had the pork done soup with level 2 spicy. Level 2 is not spicy at all to me. The soup is rich, and the noodles are on the thin side. The only thing I don’t like is the meat in the noodles. It is very fatty and tastes a bit cold inside. I cannot eat second bite. We also ordered the appetizer sampler, I like the fired dumplings and fried chicken a lot.”

“My cousin and I had a fantastic dining experience at the restaurant, celebrating one of our typical Asian holidays. The atmosphere was awesome, and since it was the Christmas season, the Christmas tree served as a stunning backdrop for our food photos. We ordered yakitori skewers, with the skirt steak standing out as the most flavorful and tender. Another favorite was the Yellowtail Rice Pop, an impressive combination of sunny-side-up quail egg, caviar, fresh wasabi, and crispy rice at the bottom! Beyond the delectable food options, the alcohol menu was equally amazing, featuring colorful craft cocktails that resembled works of art. ###Kudos to the bartender! Must fry -the green tea crème brûlée The servers were friendly and polite, adding to the overall credit of this awesome restaurant. I'm definitely planning to revisit soon; it's a great restaurant, and you should go experience it for yourself.”

“We ordered their signature Kobeyaki burger, a shrimp roll, and a beef bowl. All were delicious and filling but the burger really stood out for us. They also have some flavorful sauces to go with the food. Prices are reasonable, especially for the prime location in Chelsea ($34 total with drinks). Service was fast but I’m taking away a star because the staff who took our order showed a lot of attitude.”

“Great ramen place, with standard Japanese ramen restaurants menu, but the quality and taste are beyond standard. Like their spicy miso and tonkotsu ramen. The place huge and has lots of seating, unlike most ramen places small and tiny. Good to dine in there with friends.”

“This place is shockingly humble. The staff here are from Japan and the effort they put in presenting their culture on the plate (or Ramen Bowl) shows. It's so unassuming, you would never know how good this place is if you don't walk in. Be patient. The vibe in here is super chill and it's probably amplified even more with all the laid back reggae music I experienced here. This appealed to both Caribbean origins and my love of Japan, it's cuisine and people. The staff here is small and they work hard, plus they appear popular both for dining in and takeouts, so expect a small wait. Ryujin is definitely more of a laid back experience and that's not a bad thing! I fond places like this so hard to find but I am happy this ope If you are Japanese you will appreciate this place. If you are a ramen lover, you will appreciate this place. If you don't know about Japanese soul food, you WILL appreciate this place. Get the Sapporo Miso - if you are a Ramen head, you already know, and even if you don't, get ready for some amazing sauce. 😍 All the ramen used here is from Japan which is an amazing feat all things considered. Truly happy I came here.”

“Wasn’t feeling great and came here and got the non spicy tonkotsu ramen. Really really good, the broth was fantastic, meat super tender. The only change I would ask for is a little softer egg York, it was dangerous close to hard boiled. Very clean restaurant, staff was nice. I will be back to try the spicy when I am feeling better.”

“I love coming to this hidden gem. The food is delicious and the service is great. I highly recommend stopping by. I also had a sample of the matcha ice cream they now serve and it was so good! There’s a laundromat in the same plaza and I usually kill some time by grabbing some lunch while I wait.”

“Overall, a decent spot with homey Japanese food. The best things we had that night was the asparagus and pork soup. However, even those I felt like you could’ve gotten similar quantities in a konbini in Japan, but I suppose we’re not in Japan. For a $66 set course, I was expecting either larger portions or more fitness in the food. All three of us left the restaurant feeling hungry and not satisfied.”

“An abundance of flavor in every dish! We had an early Friday night reservation at 5:30p and were seated immediately. Service was friendly and informative though a little pushy on ordering more drinks. The food was on point and while most entree portions looked on the small side, my hangover noodles were more than plentiful. The restaurant caters more towards the bar scene and drinks up front near the large open doors.”
