“Save your hard earned money and move somewhere else. I moved here in 2021 when this place was under the management of Cantera. Since Rosemont took over it has been a terrible experience. First of all we haven’t been able to pick up our mails from the mail boxes for months because they were vandalized. We had to go pick up our mails ourselves at the post office. Now USPS refuses to hold our mails until Rosemont fixes the mail boxes, they are playing the blame game with USPS and nothing is getting fixed. They are not doing anything about it and are not communicating with us to let us know when the issue will be resolved. So we can’t even use our addresses to receive mails right now. Also the gates have been broken for months anybody can come in and out of the complex. I had a neighbor come knocking at my door one night asking me if I saw any suspicious activities because her roommate car got stolen from the parking lot. Just waiting patiently for my lease to be up so I can move out.”

“I’ve toured many places over these past few days and honestly didn’t know what I was looking for in an apartment. I’m a low maintenance guy so I’ve never had many hard must-haves in previous apartments. However, when touring this property I was enamored by not only the unit and amenities that I toured, but also the surrounding community. I never realized how essential all these considerations were when selecting an apartment until my tour here with Akira. Presentation and hospitality is everything and she seems to have mastered it, hands down! I am finishing up on my scheduled tours before making my final decisions and I can honestly say that so far the Brookleigh Flats community and the showmanship from Akira has been unmatched. “If I could give them no stars I would. If you are willing to risk getting scammed then this is the place to come to. In their agreement it says you have 48 hours to get a refund for the admin fee. I was well within that 48 hours. But all they do is give you the runaround saying that they will give your information to the leasing office so that you can get your money back. Well it's been at least two to three weeks now since that has happened I've called multiple times and no refund has been put into my account. I love how they want their money up front but when it's time for them to pay you they take two to three weeks or never to pay you back. Money doesn't grow on trees. Don't waste your time with this place.”

“I have been at Highland Lakes for 15 months, so have been through two management companies. Cortland is doing a superb job so far and here is why: The office staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. Tarnisha responds quickly to emails and looks for solutions as quickly as she can. This staff, including maintenance, inherited A LOT of problems when they took over management, some known, and many others not. This is a multi-owner property, not owned by Cortland, so it is more challenging to complete difficult tasks. In the middle of the pandemic they have prioritized emergencies, so smaller tasks take longer in order to reduce exposure of their staff unnecessarily - I get that. I appreciate their continued dedication to bringing this property up to speed under the circumstances. Thank you, Cortland, for making my experience here superior. Update: I’ve been here for 3 years now and just signed my lease for another 16 months. I still love it and the staff!! Summer at the pool is the best!! Also, this team plans monthly community gatherings like Taco Tuesday complete with a margarita!! Thanks team Decatur Highlands!”
