Anthem House
4.7
( 16 reviews ) $$

900 E Fort Ave, Baltimore, MD 21230, United States

“Just moved to Anthem House recently after a nightmare two years in other Baltimore buildings. Living at Anthem House has been a total game-changer. I feel like I hit the jackpot with this place. The vibe is modern and cozy, and the big windows are great for my unit so I can see the sun most of the day. Plus, the layout is so smart — they really nailed the whole 'open concept' thing. Props to the Danielle at Anthem House, too. She stuck with me and got my application in and secured my spot three months before I moved in, which was amazing considering the nightmare building I was leaving. In a nutshell, Anthem House is not just a place; it's a lifestyle upgrade. If you want your home to feel like a daily vacation, this is the spot. Highly, highly recommend.”

“Maintenance is extremely responsive and quick. Fastest maintenance responses I've ever seen and I've been renting various apartments for several years now. Leases are expensive. They keep adding "amenities" no one asked for and I know it's to justify increasing the rent at the end of the year. I like this place but I can't afford this anymore. They've been increasing my rent $100 each year. It's not worth the price. I lease a 2 bed 1.5 bath and the new price in the lease renewal offer they sent me is charging $2137. That's absolutely insane. This is not a luxury apartment but they are charging luxury apartment prices. UPDATE: I see they responded to this review by pretending like charging $2137 isn't an objectively ludicrous price to demand for a standard 1049 sq. ft. apartment with no parking garage, trash pick up, or any luxury amenities that could possibly attempt to justify that price. This place doesn't even come with a damn microwave. I don't think anyone reasonable could possibly "feel that the pricing is in line with what Avalon offers."”

“We have been staying here for almost 4 years. We "loved" living here so far. I say "loved" because we will be moving out soon from this place. The main reason is the neighbors. Some makes loud noise in the quiet hours, we saw someone peeing in the parking lot too! Some of them are very rude for no reason. You can not reason with them. One guy straight threatened me just because I politely told him he was parking in the spot which I cleaned in the morning after a snow storm before going to get some grocery. We pulled up to the same spot at the same time and he hurriedly backed into that spot even though there were plenty spot available (not cleaned) around there. I parked in one of those and just said to him being a friendly neighbor. I was not asking him to pull out of the spot or anything. He just didn’t have it and asked me to get back inside for my own good. I can't believe such people who cannot take a friendly gesture stays here. There were issues with one of the staff members before who was very rude and threatened my wife for just asking her to check if there were any mail deliveries left in the office. The maintenance staffs are nice, the previous manager Carlye was great though. Did not meet the new manager yet, hope they will look into what is happening around. It’s a Bozzuto community but it is just by name.”

The Wexley At 100

6081 Otterbein Ln, Ellicott City, MD 21043, United States

“Overall, my three-year stay at The Wexley has been pleasant. The place is undoubtedly a safe haven with ample parking, and the management team, led by Britney Brautigan, is exceptionally friendly. I’ve noticed some reviews say less than about her, but the key is to schedule a time to talk with her. She is extremely busy and time is valuable. She’s a very nice and professional person when you respect her time. The maintenance crew deserves applause for their top-tier professionalism and promptness in handling repairs. However, there's a notable discrepancy in cleanliness and upkeep, especially in buildings situated away from the main amenities. This oversight occasionally marred the overall experience. It's clear this isn't completely the fault of The Wexley but more a consequence of some tenants not maintaining cleanliness. If you spill something, clean up after yourself! If your dog has an accident in the hall way waiting for the elevator, come back and clean it up! My primary mistake was choosing a building away from the amenities, which reduced my utilization of these facilities. Nevertheless, the lack of paying amenity or parking fees is a major plus, and the property itself is stunning. Despite the occasional oversight in cleaning, I have no major complaints about The Wexley. Britney and her team manage the property commendably, considering the workload. Maintenance, in particular, remains consistently thorough and efficient. Thank you for being my first home in Maryland.”

Pelican Property Management

8725 Loch Raven Blvd, Towson, MD 21286, United States

“Our condo association is greatly pleased with the service and care that Pelican Management gives us. The owners listen to us, and their maintenance staff is excellent! Our manager, Justin, could not be a better manager. He is always on top of any issues that we have even those we did not know existed, and I never have to remind him. Justin also has an excellent attitude, and if we ever need him, he is there for us! I also have been very pleased with the work Rick, their CFO, is doing. He works with us on our reports and carefully watches over our finances. He gives us complete confidence that our funds are handled properly. Hats off to Pelican! I highly recommend associations using them as their management company!”

Spring Parc Apartments

“The maintenance personnel did extremely well in bringing and fixing the refrigerator. He was very professional. However, the portal is not user friendly and the management has not still responded to my maintenance request I emailed them more than three months. The apartment is in a very bad shape that needs urgent and immediate attention and I'm taking this opportunity to request a visit by your office and see for yourself. I have been living in this unit for twenty years and needs maintenance work. Thanks!”

Aspire Apollo

4451 Telfair Blvd, Camp Springs, MD 20746, United States

“Moving to Aspire Apollo has been one of the greatest decisions I have been since moving to the DMV area. Mr. Joshua gave me a tour of the apartments for which I was looking for and explained all of the amenities that were included. He explained the breakdown of everything that I needed to know and after visiting multiple apartment complexes I made the decision to move to Aspire Apollo. The office staff is very accommodating and made me feel right at home while moving in. The environment around me is very quiet and relaxing.”

The Crossings At Russett
3.9

8500 Summit View Rd, Laurel, MD 20724, United States

“Pros: Tabatha was awesome to work with. The apartment itself is nice and a great size (except for how they painted the doors, they don’t fit in the frame now and are loud and sticky and chipping, pic attached). We love the screened in porch. Area is quiet and green. Cons: Management is awful to work with. No one responds to emails or contact forms. I’ve had multiple extra charges on my account and no one has responded to my multiple requests for management to explain and or remove these charges. The amenities are non existent. The pool was always dirty and the lifeguards were lazy. The gym is in awful condition and didn’t have A/C for most of the summer. When I would ask the leasing office I only got the classic “we’re working on a solution and we’ll have it addressed in a couple weeks.” They changed the gym hours from 24/7 to only leasing office hours. This gym is in its own building and has a scanner for the app they use here to open it. I don’t understand why it’s not 24/7 and when I asked the leasing office they told us it was temporary. That was back in July and it’s almost October. The valet trash you’re required to use is almost useless and you can’t opt out. You’re only allowed to put the trash out for 1 hour each day or you can be fined $500. They don’t pick up Fri and Sat so you have to take it yourself. Trash is always dropped and left around the property. The stairs are gross and almost oily. There is constantly trash around the buildings and the landscaping is barren and unkept everywhere except for the front. You’re required to use XFINITY and get their bundle with TV and there’s no way out of it. If you’re still going to live here after reading all this, make sure you read the lease page by page. There are so many “fees” that they don’t mention.”

“My husband and I became residents of this apartment building in August 2023 after returning from living overseas for eight years and selling our home during the COVID-19 pandemic. While the complex touts itself as a luxury establishment, our experience has not matched that description. In this review, I aim to provide an honest account of our individual experiences, highlight areas for improvement, and acknowledge the strengths of this property. The Move-In: Upon moving into our renovated apartment, we were met with disappointment. The condition was far from satisfactory. Here's a breakdown of the issues we encountered: Lack of Move-In Preparation: There was a noticeable absence of a move-in prep checklist for the maintenance or cleaning staff. The floors, carpet, and bathroom were filthy, with remnants from previous occupants, including dog hair and hair clips. The oven had not been cleaned, and the space behind the stove was disgustingly dirty. Maintenance Issues: Outlets were missing screws from the plate coverings, maintenance was working on a broken toilet, and blinds from previous tenants were broken. The renovations appeared rushed, with poorly painted cabinets and paint splatters on the floors. The Next Morning: The following morning, we experienced a security issue when the wheels of our car were stolen. Local police connected this incident to a series of car break-ins and thefts in the area that weekend. The Bad: This apartment complex suffers from poor management, and it's unclear whether the fault lies with the property management team or the owners. Here are the issues we've encountered: Security: The complex desperately needs a nightly security patrol. The supposedly "secure" parking garage is inadequate, with garage doors that take too long to close, allowing unauthorized entry. Numerous neighbors have had their cars stolen or broken into since our arrival. Installing a more robust garage door system to prevent tailgating is a must. The past two weeks several cars were stolen and broken into. Criminals know this place is a weak spot. Several residents met and discussed their grievances. I know personally of three cars that were stolen and at least 6 break-ins, one car was broken in twice within a week. We will start collecting police reports as proof that something needs to change! Broken Entrance Doors: Several entrance doors leading from the secure garage to the apartment complex are broken, allowing unauthorized access. Lost/Missing Spare Keys: Management should review the keys for every unit and change locks if spare keys are lost or missing to ensure residents' security. Tow Truck Company: The current tow truck company is unreliable and often unresponsive. Implementing a nightly security patrol could help address parking issues effectively. Insufficient Lighting: There are dark areas in the parking garage and around the building, posing potential safety risks. The Good: While our experience has been marred by various issues, some staff members have stood out for their excellent customer service: Dequan has been consistently helpful. Mariam, who was previously in the leasing office, is no longer there, and her absence is regrettable. Andre, David, and Aaron have provided exceptional customer service and have shown genuine care for the residents' well-being. In Conclusion: Is this place absolutely horrible? No, but it falls short of the luxury branding it claims. The quality of service appears to be declining. I urge the management to listen to the residents' concerns and push the owners to allocate more resources for necessary improvements before someone gets hurt.”

“Great experience! 😊 Me and my husband lived at Kingscrest for 18 months. The place is really good. I loved this place especially in Spring. The area is peaceful and safe. You will never have a parking space issue at Kingscrest. I must appreciate the maintenance team. They are really quick. Overall, a very good experience living there! Pictures are clicked from my patio 😊”
