I was there quite early and witnessed a large public gathering attending an assembly of monks chanting in the main hall. In another part of the Temple one monk was delivering Buddhist teachings to a group of people. Many people come here to "make merit" with offerings and gold leaf rubbed onto Buddha statues.”
