“In one sentence: 5 stars hotel service and everything, restaurant service 3, therefore 4 in stars. Long(er) review: Reception: We were very satisfied with reception, the lady (check-in) and the gentleman (check-out) were very helpful and welcoming. Their hospitality were one of the highlight of our stay! (Thank you!!!) Room: Size was adequate, more than enough for 2, ammenities were all there. We had the room facing the wellness area. Our room was directly next to elevator which we found pretty practical as we could just get down to spa in a few steps. Spa: Amazing. 4 pools, some saunas and plenty of places to relax. We came on Sunday and spent lot of time in the wellness area (+ Monday as well) and there were not a lot of people due to the weekdays. We didn't try any treatments. Bar: I love their library bar -- there are books, magainzes, small board games that you could use to spend some time there. Prices for drinks were okay (and they were delicious) Restaurant: We had half-board booked, that means dinner and breakfast were included. At dinner, the staff that brought us to the table seemed to be very knowledgable and explained us about the rundown of the dinner, but the one of the staffs that were taking the order and delivering food seemed to struggle to communicate with English, and the level of service was not the one you would expect from a 5 stars hotel. For example, when we wanted to order drink, I was saying "I'm still thinking", but she mistook it as "still water" (we corrected it later on, but it was just awkward that she left the table without confirming first). Appetizers and desert was great. Fish as the main dishes was not bad either, but unfortunately the vegetarian dish could improve a bit. Breakfast The buffet was good enough, especially for the majority of guests who came from Germany. Service however, was unlike the other 5 stars restaurants we visited before: nobody guided to you where to seat, so if the waiter didn't see you sitting down, you wouldn't know they would bring coffee for you. For a busy morning, there seemed to be only one chef at the egg station. The waffle I ordered was delicious though, as it was not overwhelmingly sweet. Overall, minus the restaurant experience, it was a nice stay at Flakensteiner Spa Resort Marienbad, and I wouldn't mind to visit it again next time I'm in the area.”

“My best impressions. Fresh new hotel, excellent location, quiet place. The room is large, has everything you need, also for a spa - slippers and a bathrobe. The spa is excellent - time slot 90 minutes is really enough. The restaurant has very caring and friendly waiters. Delicious food - Czech cuisine but in modern way, I would say, we enjoyed it. There is also a children's menu. Car parking was booked in advance - a closed, dry place. The only small drawback - please count that check-in is not earlier than 15:00, even if the hotel is not fully occupied and even if you are with children. But overall they kept their promises, no complaints.”

“One of my favorite golf courses in Czech. Course has great training areas as well as after game facilities. Restaurant is nothing special nice view from terrace, however just average food. Course itself is very challenging with steep hikes and interesting shots from elevated tees. Now in summer 2018 the quality is nothing special. Reason is obviously hot summer. Greens are not in great conditions. For the price charged there would expect better quality. Also there is some construction going on around 1st and 7th tee box. Staff was pleasant, anyway as guest at semiprivate course you do feel like allien there.”

“The camp place is nice but it was the owner who made our holiday horrible. We were celebrating a birthday and we were a little loud with the music. Pavel, the owner just walked into our camp area and threw punches into our Pavillion tent with a cigarette dangling from his mouth and removed our electricity supply. This is so NOT cool! Well it could have been handled in a better and more friendly way and not by punching our tent and removing current. This THUG behaviour was a total put off and made our trip very unpleasant! Also we reached Thursday evening and the reception and gate was locked and nobody was around to let us in nor did the owner feel responsible to pick his phone. Very bad service I would say!”

“Disappointed. Will I consider returning? Definitely not. Would I recommend this place to others? My inclination is more towards "no." The hotel's location is undoubtedly magnificent, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding greenery and the river below. Having a cozy balcony in my room was an unforgettable feature. The room exuded comfort, and the food and its variety were good, though not exceptional. The staff were polite, attentive, and ready to assist. However, there were instances when the higher-ups displayed overly authoritative and rude behavior towards both guests and staff, sometimes masking it with insincere smiles. The medical staff, including doctors and nurses, left a positive impression with their excellent service. Unfortunately, this hotel does not live up to its declared four-star status. Our arrival was accompanied by disappointment when I found no shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom, depriving me of the opportunity to take a shower before bed. The bathroom ceiling was peeling, and the bathtub proved to be extremely slippery, posing a serious danger, especially considering the predominantly elderly clientele of the sanatorium. Such bathtubs are a disaster waiting to happen. The absence of a coffee maker or electric kettle for making coffee or tea was inconvenient. My expectations regarding the massage therapy were not met, as throughout the entire prescribed 20-minute procedure, I felt only a few cold touches and pokes from an indifferent massage therapist, after which I was informed that the session was over. The pool and sauna area are undoubtedly impressive, but I was unable to enjoy them due to the shared cabins for men and women. Seeing a naked man lying on a bench, fully displaying his intimate areas, made me uncomfortable and prompted me to leave the area. Although there is a designated smoking area outside the hotel, some guests choose to smoke in the outdoor restaurant area, leaving no space for non-smokers to enjoy their dinner. The hotel management shows little concern for this issue. The lack of beverage variety for lunch and dinner is very irritating. Furthermore, serving "Very Special Guests" in the common area of the restaurant amongst other patrons seemed inappropriate. If a differential treatment approach is adopted, it would be prudent to offer separate accommodations, especially considering the ample available space. Will I consider returning? Definitely not. Would I recommend this place to others? My inclination is more towards "no."”

“A great place with a few small nuisances. Starting with the good things: The location is great, mountain view rooms are awesome. The hotel has really good amenities with saunas, pool and yoga zones and the outdoorish restaurant is a pleasure to stay in. And the vibe is just right - modern, simple and cozy without being posh. The food - let's just say that the cook knows exactly what he's doing. The food is simply great. The staff is very friendly and tries to help but... The menus and ALL hotel documents are written in Czech, not a single line in English. Some people know English a bit, unfortunately almost none of them work at the restaurant. While they do try their best the restaurant service crew still has a few things to learn about a 4* service (handling wines comes to mind, looking after the patrons, keeping their composure while not understanding what they are being told). Fortunately, all of that is eclipsed by the atmosphere, food and views. Would go again.”

“This hotel was incredible. We only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed more. The staff was my favorite part. Adela at the front desk is EVERYTHING. She could be managing the hotel by herself. She was fun, professional, helpful and overall amazing. I wish she was my best friend haha. Bruno was also incredible. He went all the way out to our car that was parked far away and helped my aunt bring all of our bags and suitcases through town and up to our rooms. He was also so fun and so helpful. Our rooms were incredible and we had an amazing view of old town square. If I ever get the chance to come back to Prague, I will be staying here over and over :)”
