Anjin Kai's food is simply delicious, and I like how he uses local ingredients in surprising ways, and arranges them like art, so you can enjoy each dish as you eat. The birthday cake is not too sweet, has a very elegant taste, and is light. I should have been full from dinner, but I ended up eating it all. Also, the staff are very kind and fun, so I would definitely use them again.”

“The low rating is mainly due to the very disappointing dinner service. … When we initially booked the room, we were contemplating adding dinner. The hotel staff asked upon checking in, and since the hotel was situated in an inconvenient location, we decided to try it, despite the hefty 16500 Yen per person price tag. First of all, it was not Kaiseki, unfortunately. The portions were super small. Then they served a bowl of red beans, which we hilariously thought was finally a filler, and ate it. Turns out, the staff neglected to inform us that was only for decor, as they were very undercooked. Another relatively bigger dish was the rainbow trout. However, it took us half an hour to pick out all the bones in order to eat the meat… which wasn’t much. The soup that was free for children also ran out so they only had one bowl. For the price of over 16500 Yen per person, we definitely expected much much better. At least the room and staff were decent.”
