“This review is solely based on the golf course. We played both del Conte and Bonora. Unlucky for us we played two rounds at del Conte and only one at Bonora. The condition of del Conte is really poor (September 2023). It's not worth travelling from abroad to play. Bonora is a different breed. If you decide to play here, stick with Bonora. We forwarded our complaints about the condition and the general manager gave us a discount which was appreciated.”

Girls at the reception are very helpful, speak perfect English and were able to help us a lot with restaurant reservations and more. The location of the hotel might not be super close to touristic places, but that's what made it special for us. “This hotel was simply wonderful.in every way imaginable. The staff were very attentive, chatty, but not in your face. They would do anything they could to make your stay as perfect as possible. Excellent with local information and ideas, marvellous with logistics (valet parking was an unexpected treat)...just genuinely lovely people who cared a lot about their service. The rooms are beautiful and the kitchen very well equipped with clean, modern top brand appliances and utensils, crockery etc. The location could not be better, quiet, exceptional views, secure behind locked gates, literally right on the lake (crystal clear, I swam in it twice). Pool clean, warm plenty of loungers and lovely fluffy towels. Restaurant is simply outstanding...best evening meal I've had in years. Exceptional. Breakfast was also very good. It's pricey, but still very good value. Special thanks to D on reception and D the Pool/Lake attendant. Lovely humans and their service was exemplary and a credit to the hotel. I/we will return.”

“We chose the hotel Lo Scoiattolo because we wanted a lower price hotel for our first night since we would arrive quite late in the region. The hotel is simple and good for a 1-night stay. The rooms are clean and bed comfortable (the decoration could be upgraded!). The breakfast is quite simple also, but with good options. The staff put a lot of heart on it and they make the difference. The only disappointment was that the hotel is a little outside of the village. The photos shown on the internet gave me the impression that the hotel was in the village.”

“I will never recommend this hotel. The AC doesn't work (you have to ask at the reception to turn it on...), it was 34 degrees during the day and like 26 degrees in the room st night, we could not sleep with the window open because there is traffic, the windows are poorly isolated anyway and you can hear all the traffic, so no good night sleep overall. The breakfast is standard, no fruits, nothing fancy. The furniture is old, cracked and yellowed out, doors are squeaky, and the towels are old, however, everything in good shape. Having breakfast or dinner on the terasse is a pain as there is a lot of traffic. The staff is not very friendly, besides Valeria who greeted us in the first day. Also, the hotel is facing east, meaning in the evening it won't have too much sun at the beach or pool. Additionaly, if you want to stay at the pool after you check out, they ask for 20 euro extra, because why not. Besides the location with theview at the lake and the old building there is nothing, nothing that I can recommend this place for. For 250 euro a night this is such a rip-off.”
