“We’ve traveled a lot of places in Europe and don’t normally leave reviews. But as I depend on them a lot when deciding where to book, we felt like this place warranted one. The hotel and the rooms are fantastic and the location is amazing, but the service is the worst we’ve experienced in Europe. I attribute this mostly to us speaking English. Most places we’ve been are totally accommodating and we did our best to communicate in German, but the staff is outright rude if you aren’t fluent. The dinner is not worth the price (go to the Castle Brewery up the road instead!), but the breakfast is good. Would not stay here again. P.S. all saunas are nude so heads up. Tried to look into that before coming out here and couldn’t find any info on it. Hopefully helpful for other English speakers.”

“Here are our mixed experiences with the hotel: Check-in: When we were checking in, I asked if we had been upgraded by any chance as we would always ask at all the hotel chains where we have an elite status. The answer was, "Yes, you are getting a bigger room". As usual, I asked which category we were upgraded to, and the person couldn't answer that...long story short, the room type she referred to was just the one we booked. There is certainly nothing wrong with getting the exact room type you booked because we all understand that an upgrade is not guaranteed but honesty would be much appreciated. I think some younger employees could use some more training in treating guests more professionally. Room: We have checked out both rooms on the two different sides of the hotel, you can both see mountains in the background more or less. The category which they call "Mountain view " is actually rather a pool view with guests swimming or lounging on the chairs. Our room was on the other side, which closely facing a car road and a bridge with a fair amount of traffic, If you kept the window open you would hear all the noise and smell the gas, but luckily the windows were rather soundproof. Hygiene: Unfortunately, when we got in the room, there was an empty water bottle on the desk(two bottles of complimentary water are included) lined up with the other full bottle. It tells me that they did not clean the desk as they were supposed to, because if the cleaning person had ever touched the bottle, they would have noticed the empty bottle. Food: The breakfast was very good, with plenty of choices, fresh. Diner was also good with a great salad bar. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and the service was pleasant and professional. They made us feel so much better about our stay.”

“We had high expectations with all great reviews but coming there it was a different experience. Pool crowed with the same people the whole day, we couldn’t enjoy the good weather, no space available. Queue for 30 min to get barbecue for dinner. Dog menu is not included, and price is quite expensive for people without dog food, limited pool, both saunas off, after 6 pm the pool was free but full of dirty glasses and flies around them. Cobweb everywhere, I understand being in the nature, but there were huge ones from long time. Looks like it’s a hotel for a group of people and they have the most fun. Will definitely not visit this hotel again. Last problem was with no English speaking, at least not for us and as a hotel I would expect it.”

“Despite located in middle of nowhere, this hotel brings you a great retreat place to stay. The food is good, the room is spacious, clean and bright. The service is at its high standard. The noteworthy point of this hotel is its surrounding area. There is a huge garden just in front with a great green scenery, a diversity of roses and (for the tennis fans like me) a system of tennis clay courts. The town is very peaceful and lovely.”

“Fantastic spa hotel that I visited on a short business trip to Germany. Very nice staff who were very attentive. The interior is gloriously furnished with warm wood paneling filling the entire space - it was a great experience for myself who has a knack for interior design. The food from the restaurants was lovely - very much recommend the meat on offer. Breakfast was very well presented with a big focus on sanitisation (in response to COVID requirements). No real complaints!”

The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Despite our limited knowledge of German, they were very accommodating and made us feel at home. The view from our window was breathtaking. We gazed out at the serene Bavarian mountains, with an abbey in the distance. During the golden hour, the view was especially stunning. We enjoyed the peace of the area, and it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. Needless to say, we would love to return to this hotel someday. In fact, we've even considered reaching out to the staff to see if we could hold a wedding or elopement there - it would be the perfect setting for such a special occasion!”

“Great place for some German food with a french twist.Many dishes felt like the cook was taught in a French star gastronomy hence a classy combination. We had a 5 course tasting menu and the service was over the top great. Very respectful , helpful nice and making it a great evening without stress! For the food : nothing was not tasting or bad. But rating on a high level - The soup lacked some flavour peaks and was quite flat. The fish was excellent and very nicely prepared. The meat inside the mushroom was good from consistency etc. But overall you could barely taste the meat more only the mushroom. For most dishes sauces were served only separately somehow I feel the food not always wins of this and having less but better attached to it could make it even tastier. Overall this sounds critical but it just shows the high level this place is already. The craftsmanship of the cooks and the team is clearly visible. 4/5 as it was good but it could have excelled even more. One sidenote we came 5 mins early and it was a bit weird to not be really greeted or received as everyone was busy preparing. I understand we were early but for the great place and the nice service later they could have done better.”
