“We stayed at Hotel Tigaiga in January 2024. Overall it was a pleasant and positive experience. The location of the hotel is about a 20 minute walk up from Puerto de la Cruz downtown and is quite quiet. The service staff are very professional and friendly and always willing to help. For example, the beds were too hard for us and they put tops on them so they were softer. Our booking included breakfast and dinner. Both where standard. The breakfast was of good quality. For dinner they offer a menu (not a buffet) where you have two options for starters and two options for the main course (meat or fish) and desert. If you are a vegatarian or vegan there where no options on the official menu on any day. But we must admit that we did not ask for them. Officially there are none. Would we book this hotel again? Without the dinner option, yes. However, for some reason we did not sleep well most of the nights. Surely this was because the beds were too hard at first. But my partner slept well after they added the top.”

“There was an issue with our room prior to our arrival but the staff couldn't have been more helpful, allocating us an excellent substitute. The pool complex is full of well-tended greenery, from hibiscus bushes to palm trees. In the middle of this garden is the very large pool and lots of umbrellas and sun beds. The bar and dining room is next to the pool and has excellent staff. It's got a friendly laid-back atmosphere whether you're dressed for dinner in the dining room, or you've just rocked up for a couple of happy hour cocktails at sundown. We found it beautifully peaceful and relaxing. We would certainly not hesitate to return. Thanks for a great three weeks, everyone!”

“We were staying at Hotel Royal River and went to Le Jardin Restaurant at Royal Garden Villas for dinner twice. Beautiful Restaurant. The Christmas decor was fabulous. The food was excellent. The first night we went it was surprisingly quiet. Much busier the second night. I suspect guests in the Villas don't use the restaurant every night.”

“I love staying at the Sir Anthony, and couldn't wait to return after their amazing refurbishment. We checked in on the day they reopened - and I cannot speak highly enough about how the staff greeted us. We felt like royalty! The rooms are beautiful and relaxing, the pool warm and inviting, the restaurant amazing. But my biggest kudos for this hotel goes to the amazing staff. There isn't a single person who doesn't make you feel special. Everyone is friendly and helpful and truly can't do enough for you. Special thanks go to Naomi for her help from the beginning of our stay to the very end. She and all the staff at the Sir Anthony are a credit to the hotel. We've already booked our return visit for next April. Can't wait!”

“If you are looking for a family vacation during the winter months, I would suggest staying elsewhere. The resort has one heated pool which is designated as the “relaxation”. pool. I purchased flotation devices at the resort store so I could relax in the pool and after inflating them I was informed they are not allowed and suggested we use the kids pool. The water in that pool is not heated and is ice cold. The picture of the kids pool was taken around noon on a Saturday in December. Clearly nobody uses it because it is freezing. I attempted to return the floatation devices and they would not accept them because they were open. When I explained that I purchased them to use at the pool and the pool will not allow it, they asked me to speak to reception. Reception said that they could not help because floaties are “against the rules”. When we pointed out that the pool rules don’t exclude floaties, they finally took action. They went to the pool with a sharpie and wrote “no floaties”. I wouldn’t bring my family here again if it was the last place on earth.”

“This is more like a 3 star hotel. Big cons: no AC in the rooms, we had the afternoon sun and it overheated. Breakfast was quite poor for that price, bad coffee, machine-made juice and no olives. A bit far from center and shopping. Building is old. Pros: amazing sea view, nice customer service. There are a handful of nice restaurants with in 100m and very nice beach. Overall we were okay but the place needs improvements.”

“I have often looked at this hotel and thought the location and photographs of the rooms they display looked wonderful. However we stayed there for 2 nights last week and were sorely disappointed in the reality. The apartment we stayed in (08) is in serious need of renovation. The furniture is old and uncomfortable. The room had an appalling smell of really strong cleaning products which I informed the hotel about straight away. It was so bad I instructed them not to bother sending anyone to clean the next day as it was so offensive. Later I came across a cockroach in the bedroom and wondered if the smell was actually insect repellent? I scooted it out of the room into the corridor with some card and instructed the cleaning lady next door who stomped on it. Also we were on the ground floor so our balcony did not have the better views of the floors higher up and it had a huge plant also obstructing our sea view. I am sure guests would rather look at the sea than a huge plant. None of the other rooms seemed to have this problem. Good points. The staff did let us have an early check in and made up the bed settee for me as requested (but I was the one sleeping on that and it was very uncomfortable) The pool and the pool area are lovely. We didn’t mind the walk to and into town as it was worth it for the views. Considering the problems we had I thought the price we paid was too much for a 3star property even if it is high season in Tenerife. We wouldn’t stay again. Disappointing.”

“It is well located and worth it if you look at it pricewise. The room is big, I rented a double-bedded room, and i've never seen this big of a bed before in my life, it was like 2 meters wide, so the rooms are definitely comfortable. For breakfast there were a wide variety of choices. The only problems that i encountered were that my room on the first floor faced the hall, so i was woken up every day at 7 AM because of some loud talking there, and there also wasn't an air conditioning unit in the room, which made the room extremely warm at night. All in all, i wouldn't say it was a bad stay, but i've stayed in better places.”

“We spent a week at this lovely apartment. The apartments are very clean and well equipped. The swimming pool was clean and had pleasantly heated water. The staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. There is a small supermarket next door that had all basic essentials and a lovely bakery next to the apartment too. The apartments are on a hill. We found it easy to walk down but preferred to get a taxi back up. Taxis were very reasonable.The pool bar serves hot snacks which are great on lazy days.I highly recommend this apartment. I would definitely like to visit again!”

“We stayed for a long weekend. The hotel is lovely. Very clean, staff are very friendly. Rooms are exceptional. They have a sister hotel across the street you can visit and also use facilities. which is far more livelier if you prefer that. We enjoyed the relaxed chilled atmosphere of our one. Only down side is its a far walk to shops beach etc....but they do run a courtesy bus a fee times a day. Definitely recommend.”
