“The Grand Hotel la Favorita has the most wonderful staff! The ladies at the front desk were so helpful and friendly. They helped us with transportation for tours and to the train station, provided restaurant recommendations, and answered many questions to help us be more comfortable. The food at the hotel was delicious, and the bartender was so friendly. He made yummy cocktails. The rooms are absolutely beautiful. The beds were a little firm and could maybe use an upgrade, but it could also be me. I like a softer bed myself. The grounds of the hotel were beautifully kept (especially for off season) and honestly, this was the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed at. It was conveniently located near the plaza and hiking/walking areas, shopping, restaurants, and bars. Five Stars for this amazing hotel! Thank you all for your amazing service and hospitality. “Overall, we were very pleased with our stay. The hotel is very nice we loved the grounds. There are a bunch of beautiful flowers and it is just so peaceful. Our favorite part was the seaside, which was just so unique. The food at the seaside bar was some of the best shockingly. There was a very nice spread for breakfast. The service was exceptional. The room was just OK. For a five star resort, you would just expect a little bit more, but in Italy, the amenities just aren’t the best in the world. I would definitely stay there again.”

“Be aware that if you book a room in the annex, it is not 4 star as advertised. It is a telling sign there are no photos of the bathroom on the website as it’s completed dated and run down. “I have been at Hotel Continental in mid-August with my 6 yo son. Overall I have been very satisfied of my stay. The hotel is 10 min away from the city centre, there a free shuttle (Zi zi) which goes there, every 30 min. Around the hotel, there is a number of shops and restaurants. The seaside is also 10 min away by car or bus. The hotel has a number of swimming pools(4?), a very well managed spa, a beauty centre, a snack bar and a restaurant. Breakfast was super generous, but maybe I'd provide more gluten free and lactose free options. We also had lunch at the snack bar and ate very well. Although, being a snack bar, I expected an informal service and lower prices. But it's quite a formal restaurant, with plates being presented with the cloche and very elegant waiters, thus high prices. A big thanks to the spa staff for their kindness and organization. I was overall happy about this hotel, except for three aspects:1) the chairs around the swimming pools were always kept busy with towels since early in the morning;so I asked the staff at the swimming pool how to get a chair and he told me I should do as anyone else, occupying chairs with a towel early in the morning, which for me it's not an acceptable solution;2) when I did the check out, there was a mistake in the price and number of spa treatments. The staff at the reception asked me to go down to the spa and clarify this directly with the SPA as it was outside the hotel. I asked the reception to call the spa and clarify the mistake with them and they refused. I found this attitude unprofessional as they asked a client, me, to resolve a mistake that the hotel made; 3) the room was fine but not very well cleaned. When we checked in, I found hair everywhere in the room, on the floor, in the toilet, not acceptable for a 4 star hotel. Overall a good experience, with some points to improve. I wouldn't suggest this hotel for kids/families,as kids cannot access thermal swimming pools and the hotel is not by the sea.”

“The building is getting old, light bulbs not working and damaged toilet. The food is quite good. Sometimes you have to wait quite a long time for the transfer from and to the city centre. They definitely can improve the personal service (kindness, etc.) and the building facilities. At least the position is very good, close to the sea. People working in the swimming pool lunch area are very kind. Cleaning lady super kind and professional. You pay for want you get.”

“Do not stay here if the below is not what you are looking for. It was like visiting the movie ‘cocoon’. Everyone here is of retirement age (of course not a problem, but not what we were expecting!) and staff did not seem welcoming of ‘outsiders’ (as further evidenced by the response to this review) The rooms were incredibly dated, the AC didn’t cool the room (with all windows and doors closed) it’s a really very very long steep climb up to the hotel from the road, the ‘13 pools’ are average, and some worryingly murky, you are made to buy and wear a swimming cap (at least the selfies were amusing lol). Despite the hotel information telling you that there should be ‘silence’ from midnight-8am, there was INCREDIBLY loud music (even with all doors and windows closed) which didn’t stop until 1am after repeated phone calls to reception. We then had a battle on our hands to be able to check out a day early and not be bullied into paying for and staying another night after our terrible experience. Honestly, when we were looking for a hotel we thought, ‘it will be fine for the price’, it was NOT and almost ruined our holiday EDIT: and as expected, they do not respond well to genuinely honest reviews. We just wanted to share our experience for others. We were not informed about the planned party that night, we’re all for people having fun!, and would not have booked the hotel had we known. I’m always very wary of places which leave sarcastic responses to people who have bad experiences of their service, I’d suggest to the management to consider this in their future public conduct, as it’s not necessary.”
