“The place outside is very nice, rooms average. Bizarre how they loose points only because for example with three hosts they give you only two towels sets. There is no soap or shampoo. If you want to use bar you need to make an hotel card, you need to pay one euro for that, but when you left the hotel and you return it they dont give back your money. They help you to carry baggages only when you arrive but not when you left. To go out there is a bad wolk that is not easy to cross with many baggages. I think these are few little things that can make happier an host.”

“In short, 10/10. Beautiful beach, sea, comfortable and clean rooms, friendly staff, very delicious food. The hotel is located on the sandy beach with gravel, you will need shoes to get in the sea. You need to know that on the coast there is nothing except hotels and a few small food trucks. If you go up the hill (25 min on a walk), there is a train station with a supermarket nearby. 2 stations and you can visit Tropea city. The hotel offers breakfast, lunches, and dinners. And I recommend taking half board or full board. The breakfast buffet can get boring in 7 days, but everything is there: pancakes, eggs, sausages… delicious dinners: a lot of fish, seafood, pasta, and good wine. There were two and a half people who spoke English in the hotel, but it wasn't a problem, everybody was nice. Rooms, or rather houses (or bungalows), were clean and cozy. It was great to sit in front of the house like on a terrace. Wifi is more than okay. The hotel also offers some entertainment after dinner, usually live music (for peculiar taste, of course, but it's still great). The good thing is that even though some loud music is near the bar, you can still sleep in silence. It was a fantastic vacation, thank you VOI Tropea Essentia.”

“Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (Not even a 1-star) I recently had the misfortune of staying at Rocca di Vadaro Resort, and I feel compelled to share my nightmarish experience to spare others from this ordeal. To put it simply, this place is a complete disaster, and I wouldn't even give it one star. Here are the reasons why you should steer clear of this establishment: 1. Non-Existent Air Conditioning: The rooms lack any form of air conditioning. There is only one unit in the main area that blows lukewarm air, which conveniently switches off every time a door opens. Sleeping here during hot weather is unbearable. The windows also lack netting so forget opening them at night. 2. Inadequate Kitchen Facilities: The kitchen facilities are a joke. There's no provision for making tea or coffee, not even a grain of sugar. The setup is barebones, and you're better off dining elsewhere or at a neighboring establishment. 3. Electrical Hazards: Exposed cables and bare plugs jutting out from the walls are everywhere. It's a safety hazard waiting to happen, highlighting a complete lack of attention to detail. 4. Outdated Bathrooms: The shower appears untouched since the 1970s. It's a relic from the past, showing extensive wear and tear. Prepare for an unpleasant experience when using it. 5. Uncomfortable Beds and Bedding: The beds are rigid and seem ancient. The bedding is scratchy and worn, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. You'd be more comfortable sleeping on the floor. 6. Harsh Lighting and Noisy Atmosphere: The lighting in the rooms is excessively bright and harsh, making it feel like you're under interrogation. The place is noisy, and there's no chance of enjoying a peaceful stay. 7. Permeating Moldy Smells: The place reeks of mold, which is not only unpleasant but also a serious health concern. The smell lingers and never seems to dissipate. 8. Overpriced Beach Access: If you want to access the beach, be prepared to pay a whopping 15 euros per day for a minuscule 1-meter space in front of what can only be described as a puddle of a beach. It's a blatant rip-off. 9. Abysmal Wi-Fi Service: To add insult to injury, the Wi-Fi service is a complete joke. You're given access for a mere 15 hours, after which you must obtain a new code. This is not only inconvenient but also frustrating for guests who expect a basic amenity to be readily available. The only saving grace in this dreadful experience was the staff's friendliness. They do their best to mask the horrendous conditions with their smiles, but it's evident that they're fighting an uphill battle. In conclusion, avoid Rocca di Vadaro Resort at all costs. Spare yourself the misery and choose neighboring accommodations instead. It's inconceivable that any place could be worse than this appalling excuse for a hotel.”

“The resort is kind of basic and quiet with nice swimming pool, bar and restaurant. The food is delicious with good selection of local dishes, limited soft drinks and wine. No beer or espresso included. There are some weird rules for table and umbrella reservations that you have to follow. The reception service is typically very slow. All places are cleaned according to local standards (i.e. do not expect handsoap and tissues to be refilled every day at public toilets). It is very difficult to access the beach with a trolley (around 20 stone stairs). The animation music is quite noisy through the whole day. All the staff tends to prefer Italian guests which might be also annoying So, if you are an Italian family with >5y old kids you can sped a decent holidays here. For international travellers or families with babies I would recommend looking for another place.”
