“A must stay. This was the last stop on our 15 day, 5-star romp around Rome and the Amalfi coast, and clearly we saved the best for last. When I say I had my breath taken away, I truly mean it. Not only is every nook and cranny absolutely beautiful, but the staff at Caruso are on another level. The hotel’s location alone would attract repeat visitors, but the hospitality shown by the hotel staff are what make it an exceptional property. Though we wanted for nothing, every need we had (such as extra foam pillows and a steamer) was immediately executed. We want to especially thank Francesca for welcoming us so warmly. We had the opportunity to eat, swim, and use the spa during our 3 nights at Caruso and all were top notch. Our room featured a stunning terrace and came equipped with a Dyson hair dryer. There was even a 110 volt outlet in the bathroom for US electronics! We also appreciated the literature in the room that detailed all available experiences at the hotel (including complimentary shuttle services to nearby towns as well as boat tours) and the use of the Belmond phone app. If you’re like us, and wondering whether Ravello is worth a stop while visiting the Amalfi coast, I cannot recommend it enough. It is such a refreshing change of pace from the super crowded areas of Amalfi, Positano, and Capri. It is easy to stroll around, eat, shop, and visit beautiful gardens. Our only regret was not staying longer, which just means we will have to return sooner rather than later!”

“We absolutely loved this hotel! It was in a perfect spot in Positano that was both easily accessible but peaceful. It’s a lovely walk from the hotel to the town center, and doesn’t really require any stairs which is a big pro. The views were beautiful from every location in the hotel, and breakfast was amazing right on the water! It was amazing having a quieter beach to go to with discounted chairs, and the food on the beach was amazing. The staff were all super friendly and helped us with our luggage on the very steep stairs when we arrived and left.”

“It's a nice place at least for the pool which it's amazing. The room is also nice but to switch on/off the climatisation, you need to call the reception each time?! The restaurant is no great but since I was before the season I understand. You do not have choices in the menus except on what they purpose. People are very friendly and always available for you but all this does not worth the 4 stars they announce. There are during the weekends marriages so the pool can be reserved and then you must find something else to do.”

“The staff was very friendly. The highlight is the beach! The parking is also free:) We booked just one week before that’s why there was just the mountain view room left - which meant parking place and car view. 16m2 room is really small for two people- we couldn’t freely move around the bed at the same time. The balcony is so small that it’s just for hanging things, not for sitting. In the shower you can also barely move without hitting yourself on the door. The sandy beach is a typical small kids beach, that’s why more suitable for families than couples or friends. With 165€ per night not a good price/quality ratio, at least a bigger room would be better. And you need to wear a shower cap to swim in the pool 😆🙈”

But both steaks were delicious. So why are not giving this place a 5*? Because you order a side dish like potatoes or chips and they arrive after you have finished your steak. Happened on both occasions to all of us. 10 people order a starter, 8 turn up and 2 arrive 10 mins later. Good food, fair price, terrible service.”

“We had 5 days here and overall it’s lovely. It’s high up on the hill overlooking Amalfi and the views are spectacular. They run a shuttle bus up and down to the town every 20 minutes or so which is invaluable and can be booked from a tablet in your room. The staff are super helpful and willing to help move shuttle times around etc for you. It’s peaceful & quiet away from hustle and bustle but also has a small private beach that the shuttle bus also takes you to. Breakfast on the balcony was my favourite thing about the hotel, such an amazing spot to start your day. The pool is lovely with an amazing view as well. Food & drinks are pricey and most folk shuttle down & eat in town. The room was a bit sparse with furniture and the deck chairs on the balcony not the most comfortable but the biggest downfall was very poor wifi quality in the room which can be quite frustrating. Overall thought a lovely hotel in a beautiful, peaceful setting with very helpful staff and a great shuttle service up & down the hill.”
