“Lovely event location and pool. Comfortable rooms, staff and service were very helpful, from ordering taxis to changing room bookings. Unfortunately, the hotel's restaurant was closed while we were there, so we had to order taxis to come pick us up and bring us to the grocery store and restaurants on a daily basis. Often taxi drivers will charge for the distance to get to the hotel, in addition to taking you to your destination.”

“Short version: this was the best hotel stay I’ve ever had in my life. Long version… I took my girlfriend here for a very special weekend. The staff from the moment we arrived were the most friendly and welcoming I’ve met at any hotel I’ve stayed in. In just a weekend I felt like the staff at Hotel de la Ville became my extended family! I came to Rome with the intention of proposing to my girlfriend. When the staff showed us to our room (I mean suite!) that they had generously upgraded us to, I was speechless. We were shown to the Roma Suite by Francesca, and our jaws dropped. The suite was palatial, and the outdoor terrace had a panoramic view of Rome. It was utterly magical. So this hotel became the place I got down on one knee to propose to my girlfriend. The staff throughout the weekend never failed to make our weekend incredible. From the bottle of Prosecco to congratulate us, to the applause from the reception staff when we told them. Now, perhaps not everyone going to this hotel will be getting engaged every weekend… regardless, there are so many wonderful aspects of Hotel de la Ville. The breakfast is impeccable, with a huge range of options as well as a professional kitchen willing to cook a variety of delicacies on the menu. Again the staff are incredibly attentive and welcoming. We also managed to spend some time in the spa. The spa was so relaxing, and a delight to escape to from the hustle and bustle of Rome life. The spa was both warming and soothing but also modern and fresh. The interior design and details of the spa were utterly perfect. Perhaps our favourite spot in the hotel, though, aside from our suite(!) was the cocktail bar. Here, the staff are absolutely dedicated to their craft. I had the best negroni I’ve ever had (the Cockney, on their menu!), and then we came back the following evening to sample their Valentine’s special that they were working on: the love potion. I’ve never met people with such passion for making cocktails. It was infectious, and inspiring. As you might expect, we didn’t want our magical weekend to end. This hotel, and the staff, will forever be in my heart, for making me the happiest man in the world.”

“Stayed for two nights for honeymoon to explore room. We had one of the luxury suites which had a beautiful and private courtyard. The room was nice with giant jacuzzi tub, but no shower which I did not expect. Breakfast was fine and the location was great. I thought the friendliness of the staff at checkin could be much improved. If someone from the hotel is reading this, please work on this. You have guests jet lagged and tired checking in who are excited about their trip to Italy. Why not greet them and make them feel special and welcome rather than a bother? The best part of the hotel was the rooftop bar where they made great drinks and gave you very tasty snacks. The servers were really friendly as well. Overall, it’s a fine hotel and affordable for a few nights stay to explore Rome.”

In fact, during our stay in Italy, we compared all of our 4 star hotels back to Rome Life as it was our most favourite. The location is also incredibly close to all main attractions, but the rooms were still quiet and the area felt very safe. What truly stood out, though, was the exceptional effort the staff at Rome Life put into their customer service. I accidentally left my wallet behind, and the hotel greatly assisted in safely shipping it to my home in South Africa. I believe their commitment to ensuring the return of lost property reflects their dedication to guest satisfaction. “Not suitable for families. Our main reason for choosing accommodation outside the center was the swimming pool (for our children to relax after sightseeing). This, as well as the SPA area (incidentally in the neighboring building - somewhat inconvenient) was closed to children (under 18 years of age). There was (October 2023) only a very hidden note in the terms and conditions and an ambiguous email from the hotel shortly before departure (and only after the free cancellation period had expired). They weren't accommodating on site either. Since the large and beautiful leisure pools were already closed in October, this was a reduction in the overall value for us - we would have booked differently even with this prior knowledge (another hotel outside or a hotel without a swimming pool in the city center for the same price).”

Room was hot because the ac hadn't been switched over from the winter. Traffic noise is terrible since it's right on a major highway.”
