“Came for a Sunday treat/late lunch. Staff were super friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. Definitely the best prawn toast I’ve had for a very long time! Portion sizes were generous and food came out piping hot. Lovely tender chicken and crunchy veg. Will definitely be coming back to sample the roast duck!”

“Great food, friendly staff, good atmosphere. Rumpus is a small place, very intimate not good if you're in a wheel chair or need help walking as there are quite a few stairs to get to the dining area. But that is the only negative i can say about the place. The food was lovely and a good portion size. It was my daughters birthday so we brought a cake and after we'd finished eating it was brought up and the girl bringing it was singing. We did have to bring our own candles though (which they accidentally kept lol).”

“Pretty hidden restaurant located under Quebec's hotel but definitely worth a visit. We ate on a Friday lunchtime and expected to eat from the set menu we'd seen online but unusually they only offer this in the evening. They do have a bar menu for lunch but we opted for the main menu and the food was delicious. Highlights were the french onion soup & Fillet steak gateaux, not the cheapest but absolutely delicious. The staff are very friendly and the service was excellent with a good recommendation from the extensive wine list from our friendly waiter. We will definitely be back.”

“Everything was so amazing!! Planning to come back soon!!! We went for my boyfriends mums birthday and everything was perfect. We really wanted a place that can make it feel special and this place did exactly everything! The food the atmosphere and the service was all brilliant. We ordered nearly everything off the menu all to share and everything we found incredible. She was really happy and so was you ! Would recommend this place to anyone especially for a special event. Unfortunately didn't get pictures of the food because we was busy eating it all.”

“Absolutely thrilled to come across this independent burger bar. We were a large party celebrating a couple of birthdays. The staff were fabulous, efficient and completely unflappable! Thank you. Do come hungry… portions are generous and delicious! Our party tried loads from the menu. Double burgers, chicken burgers, vegan burger, Greek Salad, fries and kids (cub) menu. Milk shakes too. I will definitely come back. Apologies for anyone else eating in the small restaurant on the day we were there. We were a bit loud. Although it did go very quiet when the food arrived and we all tucked in. Yum!”

“Lovely place for food, in particular! Theres loads of parking and street parking. The staff are welcoming and plentiful; we didn’t have to wait long, even at lunch, Sunday 12:30 The atmosphere was good. I didn’t notice any music on reflection; just the business of the place. That said, everyone is spaced well and it doesn’t feel stuffy. The menu is classically British and full of lovely choices, all of which look stunning when they come out. I had rosemary roasted chicken with red wine jus which was tender, and a very nicely-sized portion. The food was hot throughout and hasn’t been left standing. Desert was a crumble, apple and raspberry. It was tart, sweet and had crunch to the crumble. The custard was lovely. Very nice indeed. Those plus a pot of tea were less than £30 with a tip; not bad for good quality food! Upstairs they have a pizza oven and my friend says they are delicious stone baked pizzas. Outside there’s about 10 double-sided benches with large brollies; it was drizzling but we were dry and it was scenic!”
