“I have been here a few times and they made some improvements in the interior appearance. Even though putting “cloth napkins” in a glass looks good, it leaves some remains when you remove it. And then we just drink it with water. We ordered a couple of different food and they were delicious. But i found the food a little bit expensive.”

“The Sample Room is an excellent place for just that: samples! We enjoyed a whiskey flight and a rye flight, but the menu had so many other options of spirits, wine, and a full bar. We didn’t try food this time, but we would definitely come back!”

“What a place! Hidden gem and worth the drive if you are not from the area. Everything from start to finish was amazing. We had appetizers, entrees and desserts. It all was fabulous! To have the actual Chef/owner come to your table to check in is unheard of now. Small, very intimate dining so we felt very comfortable and cozy. Our server was top notch and was on top of everything. We will definitely go back and bring new guests to the location.”

“Amazing, fresh, delicious food. We had pho with chicken, vegetable fried rice, and broccoli entree, all SO good and fresh. Portions of food were perfect. Ambient, clean environment as well. Will definitely be back when we're in the area! The only things that could improve are: 1. Service was a bit slow, but we didn't mind - food was quick to arrive once our orders were taken. Just don't be in a rush if you visit when it's busy. 2. The flow of the entrance is a bit cramped and hard to know where to stand when there's multiple people there. I also ran into the table with my hip when walking past there from the bathroom, my own fault and no big deal but just further shows the need for a better setup in this area. Overall we loved it, thanks for a wonderful meal!”

“I have been here twice, once in 2017 and once a week ago (2024), and I know that their Tonkatsu has remained the same since it looks exactly the same as it did 7 years ago. Regardless, I had a good experience here overall, and I would recommend it to people if they ask about Japanese food within the Twin Cities. For the agedashi tofu, our server poured the liquid after the tofu was brought to our table, which was the first time I have seen it done that way in the Twin Cities. The tonkatsu contained a good amount of rice and meat which was great, but the "potato salad" was bland, which I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be the case. Having some cucumbers and grape tomatoes was good for me, but I still wasn't sure if that was normal. Regardless, I liked it. Other than those, I enjoyed the ramen and the chicken kara.age as well. They were as good as I imagined they would be. In terms of the nigiri and maki rolls, I thought they were overpriced and there were not enough to fill up my friend's stomach. She had to order additional rolls to ensure that she could get a decent amount of food to be full. Our bill accumulated quickly and ended up being beyond what we had expected. One thing I would also mention is that Kyatchi is located in a good location that makes it very convenient for those in the King Field area to go there, including walking. If people ask me to recommend 5 Japanese restaurants in the Twin Cities, then I would mention this establishment.”

“Fun place to be with a bunch of events seemingly every day. Wednesday is trivia, so get in on that! Food was great, definitely no complaints. The Poutine was wild, the burgers are great, and even the mocktails are worth a shot. Do note it can get a little busy so service may take longer, but the TV's playing random movies may help keep you occupied.”

If you want to experience warm ambience and delicious food without worrying about your waistline, stop in. You won’t be disappointed. I love their menu, and I have higher standards than most.”

“What an amazing dining experience! In town from the suburbs of Chicago, and by far my best meal. Steaks were cooked to perfection and sides were delicious. Our server (who was also working the bar) was friendly and knowledgeable. I’ve been to multiple steak houses in Chicago and this steak was better than any I have had there. Thank you Butcher’s Tale for a lovely dining experience! (Pictured- ribeye, beef tenderloin, mash, mushrooms, chocolate cake)”
