“This is a true gem, never would have guessed Toledo would be home to one of the best Japanese dining experiences in the Midwest but here we are. Truly exceptional in all facets. Service, dishes, attention to detail, the omakase style just puts it on another level. Add this on your bucket list, it's a must. Fine folks of Toledo, you have no idea how lucky you are to have such an experience. Or perhaps you do! Can't wait to go back.”

“Shawn's is a spacious cross between Irish pub and sports bar, with cozy atmosphere, plenty of tables and booths, and lots of TVs to offer decent viewing angles from most seats. Service was courteous and quick. The house Irish red ale is excellent, and the food was very good, the only disappointment being that the large menu had surprisingly few Irish dishes given the theme - primarily just shepherd's pie and fish and chips, but also a nice variety of sandwiches, pizza, entrees, and specials like kielbasa and pierogies. All in all a great place to eat, drink, socialize, and watch sports, albeit not as authentic of an Irish pub experience as you might expect from the name. We would definitely return when in the area again.”

“Very friendly and courteous staff, seated us immediately and brought coffee really fast. Got the steak omelet and a pancake. The home fries had a bit of a musty aftertaste, nothing that a bit of ketchup smothering and pepper couldn't fix. The steak was pretty chewy and flavorless, but the omelet was good. Pancake was great, it was huge, covered the whole plate and very fluffy. The coffee left a bit of greasy feeling on the tongue. Restaurant was very clean. Prices are very reasonable, even on the cheap side.”

“Update: our last online order was very improved. Portions were better and everything was made perfectly. Always excellent food and service when we go in to order. However, we refuse to order online anymore. Every time we order online, our bowls/food have been half the size if not smaller than what the serving size actually is. Very disappointing.”

“I was very surprised by their prices and then the quantity of food. It was 17.50 for a general Taos chicken combination plate. Wonton soup and an egg roll included. I don’t think there was even 1/4th a cup of chicken. It was mainly just a ton of sauce poured on a plate. Our total bill For 2 dinners, wonton and potstickers was 60 plus bucks. I had heard such great things about this place so was sad to see this.”

“The atmosphere is what you expect in a fine dining restaurant. Except for the table, It seemed to be an after thought. It was next to the server station with very poor lighting compared to other tables in the restaurant. The manager Terrance was outgoing and tried to be accommodating. He said there were candles on the table but they kept going out from the air flow so they removed them. Our server, Conner was very nice. All food that was ordered by our party of 6 was good. However the snack/ appetizers were very small. Definitely not sharable as suggested. It was also disappointing that not one but two of the menu items we ordered were unavailable including the catch of the day. Seeing that two people wanted the same thing, this made for a 50% failure rate for us. There is no offer of bread, or fresh crushed pepper for salad. Our dining experience seemed to drag on. The snacks were ordered as part of a meal so this was not a course. It took two hours for salad, main and desert. All in all the food was good, but we will probably dine elsewhere in the future.”
