“Who knew a bowling alley could have such great food? We were skeptical when we were told how good the food is at Barn Bowl & Bistro, but having been there about a dozen times now, we're convinced. They serve up great dishes with consistency and at a reasonable price for the Island. Most recently I had their Brazilian churrasco bbq...where they come to your table with skewers of meat and slice off what you want. At $34.99, it's an awesome deal for some delicious meats. It comes with three sides: rice, a salsa of sorts, and a third dish which I didn't catch the name of but was quite tasty. Currently, they're talking about offering it on Saturdays - maybe Fridays - so call first. And go support them so they continue to serve it up! Other suggestions...the shrimp and sausage pasta is great as are the pizzas. I haven't had the curry but friends have and thoroughly enjoyed it. Personally, I've had the scallops, Bang Bang Cauliflower, SW Chicken Egg Rolls, and the Fried Fishermans Platter - which can serve two. All are good. A lot of folks tout the fried chicken but the night my husband had it, it wasn't well seasoned. And rumor has it there might be better fish and chips elsewhere. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. The staff is awesome and they mix great drinks. All in all, it's an establishment we'll continue to enjoy and support. Oh, and the bowling is great too!”

“Great: best chili we've ever had. Very Good: we both had the French Quarter sandwich. Delicious, but the roast beef could have been a bit more tender. Okay: Martha's vineyard is understandably overpriced. But $60 for 2 sandwiches, a cup of chili, and 2 cans of soda. Cmon! Meh: Crowded, noisy, and a bit messy”

“This review is based on our experience having dinner in November 2023. The Sweet Life was a truly surprise, an amazing hidden gem in Oak Bluffs, MV. The kitchen is audacious, their dishes show a genuine desire to take risks and whoever is in charge is delivering. Portions are correct, enough. Every ingredient has a purpose, each one has its moment in the journey. The grilled octopus resembles an interpretation of the Spanish dish pulpo a la gallega. The ricotta cavatelli is like if you were eating pasta with a hint of key lime pie. The anchovies in the mafalde, shout here we are!, but just at the right moment. And then, at the very end, you think all is over, the chocolate budino blows your head off. The service is attentive, simple, gracious. The ambiance, just like you'd expect from a place like this in MV. There's a disconnection with the 3-star menu and the rest of the place (not a complaint! is more like a compliment). You don't need the up-scale snobby set-up to deliver a fantastic experience.”

“Dining while traveling is always hit or miss. Staff was friendly at Dos Mas and there appeared to be a lot of locals dining there, so we were hopeful. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing (Chips with cheese), but it was not what was expecting. Prepared like nachos, it was served cold, not heated, so no melted gooey cheese. My co-diner was able to get a dish modified for a dietary restriction (cod over rice), which was a better pick than mine. Prices were good and this is a great spot for a beer or cocktail, but the food and descriptions of it could stand some improvement.”
